    Description

Welcome to Toowoomba, known as Queensland's "Garden City" because it features many beautiful public parks and gardens. We are located just 90-minute drive west of Brisbane and have a cooler, distinct four-season climate compared to coastal Queensland. We welcome willing, healthy, energetic helpers for 1 or 2 weeks who are able to help with yard tasks. We welcome help with removing the invasive cactus from the field to return the natural pasture. It is not physically challenging, just time-consuming and needs good eyes for spotting the cactus amongst the long grass.

My husband and I live between 2 farms, one in Toowoomba:- a hobby farm (70 acres) and one in St George:- an Outback cotton & cattle property (7000 acres). Glenn is a very busy farmer running all the daily operations of a cotton and cattle property. I am a semi-retired Speech Pathologist, I do the book-keeping for the farm and love to travel.

I love playing tennis, going to the gym and I am learning piano. I love to share my home, cooking/culture and exchange with others.

Our 70acre Toowoomba farm is on the edge of town, just 10km from the city centre. There is a bus nearby. It is mostly bushland with a creek and lots of kangaroos and wildlife. There are 2 paddocks for horses where the cactus has invaded and needs removing. Our St George property in outback Queensland is a fully operational cotton & cattle property. This is a unique opportunity for guests to experience the best of both if you would like to add an outback adventure weekend to your stay! Workawayers will only be helping on our personal land.
