    Description

We have a vacancy for one workawayer to stay one month in July. It will mostly be for companionship as I will be on my own during that period. Female traveller only please.

You need to be comfortable working on your own for extended periods of time (I have a full time office job - working from home) and appreciate the peaceful seclusion of this beautiful valley.

This will be to help with animal husbandry (moving cows to new grazing cells, feeding chickens and rabbits), harvesting oranges, making compost, feeding veggie patch, clearing vegetation from fences, mowing, bush regen, fire track maintenance. .. and playing with the dogs!

We are a multicultural family, down to earth, and we aim at living a simpler life.

We care for the land. We tend to a large food producing garden. We raise many forms of farm animals (cows, chickens, rabbits). We bush regen a lot and we rewild as often as possible.

We are backed by the Jilliby State Conservation Area (lots of bushwalks & trail rides), and further by the Watagans National Park. The beach is only 25 mins away. There is Wyong River nearby where you can kayak from.

Our homestead is nestled in a private little valley, with a small creek running through it. Temperate rainforest all around us, abundant wildlife and very quiet, bar for the birds.

  • Help

    Help

Everything to date has been established... veggie patch, orchards, fences, off-creek water set up, and everything needs to be maintained, improved or troubleshooted! The main work nowadays seems to try stay on top of the wilderness so it doesn't swallow our productive paddocks or infrastructures!!! :)

Other activities include firebreak protection, moving, pruning, bush regeneration, compost making, animal care, and general farm chores.

You need to feel comfortable working on your own as I now have a full-time office job (working from home the most part).
