We are a family of 6 who are house sharing a large house. We have a 11yr old boy, 6 yr old girl, a 3 year old boy and 9month old girl. We live in a newly constructed Ecovillage in rural British Columbia about an hour East of Vancouver in the picturesque Fraser Valley. We both work in the field of psychology/counseling. We enjoy Yoga, cooking, camping, family time and sharing dinners with others in our community. Our community is a 31 unit multigenerational co-housing community situated on a 20 acre organic farm that grows a number of crops such as blueberries, garlic, and 2 community supported agriculture operations, community gardens and a small, but growing flock of chickens (or 2). We try to maintain healthy lifestyles including eating organic food, respect for spirituality and abstaining from tobacco and alcohol.

Help around the house
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We are primarily seeking help with childcare for our well behaved children and basic household chores such as cleaning, cooking and organizing. There are other parents and children of the same age whom our children know well & with whom you might enjoy socializing (there is a village parent/baby group that meets irregularly). We also appreciate some work that goes towards help in our village such as gardening, landscaping, farming, cooking, etc. and any help launching a home based business would also be welcomed. We prefer workawayers who are looking for stays of more than 2-3 weeks.
We have private rooms available for up to 2 workaways and a shared bathroom with a shower. We have a large home which is situated in a 31 unit multigenerational co-housing complex with a 20 acre organic farm. The split level home back deck overlooks the farm, gardens and trampoline to the rear and the front of the house overlooks the porch of the common area, where villagers often congregate to share meals, play chess or where the children of the village ride bikes/scooters.
There is a public park with a playground and skate park adjacent to the village. There is also a post office, library, deli, health food store and resale shop all within a few minutes walk. There is also great hiking, biking and fishing (which our 11 year old loves) along the vedder river (5 minute walk) and mountain. The natural scenery in the Fraser Valley is pretty amazing, but Chilliwack has malls and shopping and Vancouver isn't far away, with Vancouver Island just a ferry ride away from there.
