This is like a hidden paradise, located within the hydroelectric reservoir in Guatape, Antioquia.
Our goal is to provide adequate spaces for people to congregate for multiple activities (festivals, retreats, training camps, leisure, classes, etc).
We are located on a peninsula that is separate far from the urban areas; there is no road so you must get here by boat (15USD) or a walk (1h) through beautiful native forests and pine forests. 2 or 3 lights are visible at night in the distance, we are surrounded by water and mountains covered with trees; none the less we have running spring water, bathrooms, outdoor and indoor kitchens etc. You may come to sleep in bunk beds in a very humble peasant home, or you may also stay in tents under roofed campsites with hammocks etc. You can go for long hikes, kayak or swim in the lake, have campfires and its a great place for those who like peace and quiet.
We need help with construction as we are building our first classroom which is a geodesic dome, based on a dodecahedron; bamboo structure with metal joints, pine frame, superboard panels and ferrocement exterior.
We need lots of muscle, but the stay and food are well worth it.
Help with Eco project
Travelers will learn any and all techniques that we may be applying at the moment. We like to let people experiment, make a couple of mistakes, try out stuff. We dont like people to feel exploited so we try to buy a variety of food, that adapts to or workers tastes and needs. We also dont like people to do brute force tasks only, but to participate in the more technical, and artistic aspects of the work. We are all about education and comunity, so we hope people will be empowered in some way before they leave.
The help we need is in general construction. You might have to carry or mix materials, use tools and power tools to cut or attach materials to the structure. Painting, pouring concrete, measuring, drilling, hammering, etc. We work with all kinds of materials, in a very artisanal way.
