Description
Hi, we are Gerardo and Luis!
We need a lot of help in permaculture - our vision is to create an Ecotouristic Campsite! We are currently building up the place and hope to receive tourists by June 2023.
We are located in between Cacalchen and Citilcum, these are two small towns close to Izamal a big City with a lot of ancient history. Also called the Yellow City.
We are surrounded with the friendliest yucatanean locals, close to magic towns, cenotes, 50 minutes by car from the beach and 45 minits from the safest city in Mexico... Merida, Yucatan!
If you have experience with permaculture, building with recycled materials, living the simple camping life-style, be welcome and be apart of this project and help with sustainable concepts, ideas and action !
We have now a Mexican outside kitchen (made from local wood) ,tents and hamocks to sleep in for the volunteers, a simple dry eco bathroom, and a small house and a place to keep our tools.
We are now planting fruit trees so gardening, watering the plants, gathering fire wood, helping with construction, and your ideas to improve the project are very welcome.
So if you enjoy nature and its animals, you are not afraid of spiders, are a practical person who likes to work and live in a community life style and sleep under a sky full of stars , this is the right place for you ...
Please if you can bring your flash light, biodegradable soap, and positive spirit, we are really looking forward to meet you !!

Help
You dont need to be an expert in any specific task but you should be motivated to learn new things or teaching something you can contribute to the team!
Team player mentality is essential and of course we always invite creativity! You have to love nature, getting a little dirty, organic lifestyle and meeting new cultures.
We often work Monday-Friday, Saturdays and Sundays are our days to rest and recharge! We often work in the mornings but sometimes we work in the afternoon.
I am very easy going and flexible with our schedule.
We need help with gardening, building the campsite, making trails out of stones, promoting us on social media, feeding tand cleaning he chickens and much more!
If you dont have any specific skills but you wanna help or learn and you’re motivate please contact me and for sure I will find something to do for you.Languages

I would like to improve my English and German but also I would like to help you improve your Spanish, so we can talk in Spanish or English :) whatever you feel comfortable.Accommodation
In exchange for your work we provide a sleeping space , simple basic needs like toilette paper, water for drink and organic soup for dishes.
You stay directly at the project where we work and spend most of our time, you will have a "wild" experience with mother nature. We provide a tent, an air matres, a pillow and blankets. We can cook in our outdoor kitchen with wood and we can make campfires. We sometimes have electricity and we pump up our own water, we have ecological dry bathrooms and a "bucket shower" and solar lights. Most of the time, we share some of our groceries and cook together as a group, but if you would like to cook your own food, thats fine, too.
We also have 2 bikes if you would like to bike to the nearby cities and a small pool to get fresh.
We dont provide meals, but we do provide freshly laid organic eggs from our chickens, cooking utensils (cooking oil, herbs, salt/pepper, sugar, etc.), drinking water, coffee/tea and an unforgetable experience :DWhat else ...
There are buses that go to the city and also sometimes we can go to the beach together in my car to see the sunsets or just go and eat delicious food around the nearby town. In your free time you can visit a lot of places near by and non Touristic CENOTES (it’s like a hole with natural water). You can also go alone wherever on the weekends. I can give you great advice on different places to explore, as i am guiding groups in an exchange with the Erasmus Univer city all over Mexico in my free time.
