    Description

Hi, we are Gerardo and Luis, and we are working in our ecoturistic campsite!!!

We are located between Cacalchen and Citilcum, these are two small towns close to Izamal a big City with a lot of ancient history. Also called the Yellow City.
We are surrounded with the friendliest yucatanean locals, close to magic towns, and cenotes are 30 minutes away by car or van. You can arrive telchac Beach in 45 minutes, and there is Motul like 25-30 minutes. Motul is an Intersection point where many transports flow in different directions.
So if you have experience with permaculture, building with recycled materials, living the simple camping life-style, be welcome and be part of this project with sustainable concepts, ideas and actions ! And if you have not you can learn with us and share knowledge about food, languages or something else.

We have palapas, tents and hamocks to sleep, so you can apreciatte the nature and the night. We have a Mexican outside kitchen (made with local wood), a dry eco bathroom, a chicken hoop, plant beds, a small house and a place to keep our tools.

Now we are focus on maintenance, so gardening, watering the plants, cleaning the trails are basic chores that if you don’t have to much knowledge about permaculture those are things that you can help us.
And if your skills are others , helping with construction, carpentry and others will be fine

During your stay you will learn about:
    *Reproduction of microorganisms
*Selection of local plants for planting based on soil
*Identify woods from the area and their uses
    *Construction principles with local wood
*How to make roofs with local materials
    *Processes to create organic fertilizers

-The last but not the less important we can show you the secrets of the local food :)

So if you enjoy nature and its animals, you are not afraid of spiders, are a practical person who likes to work and live in a community life style and sleep under a sky full of stars , this is the right place for you ...

Please if you can bring your flash light, biodegradable soap, and positive spirit, we are really looking forward to meet you !!

    hasta pronto :D

You dont need to be an expert in any specific task but you should be motivated to learn new things or teaching something you can contribute to the team!

Team player mentality is essential and of course we always invite creativity!

You have to love nature, getting a little dirty, organic lifestyle and meeting new cultures.

We often work Monday-Friday, Saturdays and Sundays are our days to rest and recharge! We often work in the mornings but sometimes we work in the afternoon.
I am very easy going and flexible with our schedule.

We need help with gardening, building the campsite, making trails out of stones, promoting us on social media, feeding and cleaning the chickens and much more!

If you dont have any specific skills but you wanna help or learn and you’re motivate please contact me and for sure I will find something to do for you.

    Accommodation

In exchange for your work we provide a sleeping space , simple basic needs like toilet paper, water for drink and organic soap for dishes.
For sure you will have a "wild" experience with mother nature. We provide a tent, matress, a pillow and blankets. We can cook in our outdoor kitchen with wood and we can make campfires. We sometimes take advantage to use electricity while we use the generator, we have ecological dry bathrooms an outdoor shower that’s almost close (we need to build the roof and solar lights. Most of the time, we share some of our groceries and cook together as a group, but if you would like to cook your food, thats fine, too.

We also have 2 bikes if you would like to bike to the nearby cities and a small pool to get fresh.
We don't provide meals, but we do provide cooking utensils (cooking oil, herbs, salt/pepper, sugar, etc.), drinking water, coffee/tea and an unforgettable experience :D

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are buses that go to the city and also sometimes we can go to the beach together in my car to see the sunsets or just go and eat delicious food around the nearby town. In your free time you can visit a lot of places near by and non Touristic CENOTES (it’s like a hole with natural water). You can also go alone wherever on the weekends. I can give you a great advice about different places to explore, as i am guiding groups in an exchange with the Erasmus University all over Mexico in my free time I’m good at it.
