Hello! I'm currently in a new chapter in my life. I went to school and worked in software development for four years and have saved to take an extended time away from the corporate world. During this time I have a few priorities: I'm interested in writing fiction, political activism, and enjoying and experiencing the natural world. And of course, I want to develop the important skills to live a slower, more intentional life, without relying on mass-manufactured goods and consumerist lifestyles.
I'm on workaway hoping to connect with like-minded people. I am hoping to work at homesteads and farms doing anything required - from taking care of animals, agriculture/gardening work, construction projects, or anything else that allows a home to run. I care deeply about the environment, speak a few languages, and love connecting with people. Everywhere I go, I'm looking for deep understanding, and I'm looking for people who do the same.
More about me: I love reading. A few friends and I challenge ourselves to read 25 books a year and we email each other our thoughts about it. I love camping, cooking around a fire, doing hard hikes, and being in nature. Some good hikes I did recently were La Malinche in Puebla and Mt. Lindsey in Colorado. I also love playing chess and playing guitar but I'm not so good at either of them!

My professional experience is with software but I imagine most people don't need help with that ;)
I have experience with power tools and basic construction projects so I can help with that, although I would need some direction. I am comfortable cooking, cleaning, and working with kids as well.
I'm most interested in agriculture, gardening, trailblazing, and general outdoors work, and am looking for guidance in learning about these skills.
