    Description

Aloha, we are looking for people who can help us on our orchard: planting trees, spreading woodchips, weedwhacking, weeding, grafting, air layering, harvesting, cutting down trees, etc. You will sweat, get dirty, and be tired...but the work is very varied so you will not get bored .. it wont be too repetitive because there are so many things to do to keep the farm running.

You will learn to use many tools, and learn many new skills!

Our tropical fruit orchard is on the beautiful North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. We practice “ Back to Eden” organic farming method. We have many varieties of tropical fruits.

This would be a great place for individuals who love to surf or want to learn surfing...because it is the surfing Capitol of the world. In summertime there is amazing snorkeling, diving thru lava tubes, swimming..even swimming with dolphins in Waimea Bay.

We are not a commercial farm so we dot not pay wages.

As per Workaway guidelines, we will expect 5 hours of work per day 5 days/week. Transportation will be your responsibility but you can hitch a ride with us when we go places and we can drop you off...or you can hang out with us when we go do fun stuff such as surfing and snorkeling. Some have rented mopeds and cars. Some have bought used car or used moped and sold it when they leave.

Our expectations include but are not limited to the following:
    1. get up early and ready to work by 6:30am.
    2. clean up after yourselves, maintain good order of the living space, and clean up the living spcace nicely before your departure.
    3. projects include but not limited to: organic farming, carpentry, grafting, air layering, propagating fruit trees; weedwhacking, building and maintaining organic vegetable garden, building fences, irrigation, etc..
    4. Quietness and peacefulness is important to our family.
    5. No drugs or alcohol

Also during summer months of June, July, and August, individuals with STEM background will be a bonus but not necessary, as part of the work could be tutoring our 12 year old daughter.
