Description
Aloha,
We are looking for individuals who want to learn about growing tropical fruits using organic methods. This would be an educational experience learning “Back to Eden” and permaculture methods. We use a combination of grazing animals, woodchips and low grasses as orchard floor covers.
This would be a great place for individuals who love to surf or want to learn surfing...because it is the surfing Capitol of the world. In summertime there is amazing snorkeling, diving thru lava tubes, swimming..even swimming with dolphins in Waimea Bay. There are also many places to hike and Waikiki nightlife is not far away.
As per Workaway guidelines, we will expect 5 hours of attendance per day 5 days/week. Transportation will be your responsibility but you can hitch a ride with us when we go places and we can drop you off...or you can hang out with us when we go do fun stuff such as surfing and snorkeling. Some have rented mopeds and cars. Some have bought used car or used moped and sold it when they leave. We have bikes u can use in combination with public transportation (buses; rail).
Our expectations include but are not limited to the following:
1. Program starts at 6:30am.
2. clean up after yourselves, maintain good order of the living space, and clean up the living space nicely before your departure.
4. Quietness and peacefulness is important to our family.
5. No drugs or alcohol

We had fun at work every day and the tasks were very varied.
We‘re already missing the peaceful Haleiwa Farm! Hope to see you again sometime. Thanks for all these great experiences!

Walter and Tia were my first Workaway hosts and the best ones I could've wished for. They are incredibly kind and caring - to eachother, to their daughter Kaia and to me.
