  • Description

    Description

We are a small regenerative farm, working towards sustainability and self-sufficiency. We are looking for workawayers who are happy to experience and help with sustainable farming (veggies and almonds, herbs and worms) and anyone who has initiative, energy and skills to add to our lifestyle.

Accommodation and meals are provided throughout your stay. Meals are prepared and taken with us in our home. We take joy in preparing and chatting over meals and learning your culture as you learn ours. Our farm is on top of a mountain surrounded by nature, Cape Fynbos and export fruit. A farmers market at the last weekend of every month, guest cottages and a camp site ensure a constant flow of people.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Workawayers can immerse in the culture we live in. We are very involved in community projects as well as striving towards sustainability. Like family, workawayers are involved in all we do, and share in the homelife as is run here on the farm.

  • Help

    Help

Farm activities vary according to the season and new projects are regularly tackled. You can expect to work on a range of activities from juicing lemons, removing olive pits, to building projects with upcycled materials, maintaining hiking trails, designing trail indicators, changing dry composting toilets and general maintenance. Soil health is our main objective - therefore compost building will be one of our main jobs. We may need some help in computer/internet, photography and/or social media.

Self-reliance, work-enjoyment and creativity are some of the traits we look for in our workawayers.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Accommodation can vary from a cottage with own kitchenette, shower and toilet, and free wi-fi to a caravan in the garden, depending on the flow of guests. Bedding and towels are provided, do bring your own toiletries. A washing machine is available, as long as you are water and electricity-conscious.

Do bring sufficient clothing for cold weather as we are up on a mountain. You will enjoy nature, rocky mountains and beautiful sunsets on the farm.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We try and integrate workawayers with the neighbouring farms to experience some of the other opportunities available; sometimes they help with packing fruit, picking and packing flowers for export or just mingling with the locals. Workawayers get to experience our lifestyle and the community we live in first hand.
