Description
Our little reading space is located right by the sea, in a beautiful and peaceful traditional village called Lò 3 in Phú Yên.
This area is known for its unique red-tiled roof houses, creating a warm and timeless atmosphere that feels very different from busy cities. Every morning, you can hear the ocean, feel the sea breeze, and watch the simple daily life of local fishermen and families.
We truly love this place because it is calm, authentic, and full of quiet beauty. Children come here to read, play, and connect with books in a natural environment – surrounded by trees, fresh air, and the sound of the sea.
If you love slow living, nature, and meaningful cultural exchange, you will absolutely enjoy your time here. It’s a place where you can relax, be creative, and become part of a small but heartfelt community
This project is run by a small family.
I’m the founder – and also a father – building this space with the hope that children will grow up with books, imagination, and a love for learning.
We also have a small local team who help take care of the space and support daily activities. Everyone is kind, welcoming, and happy to share local life with you.
Around us is a friendly fishing village community. Local children often come to read and join activities, making the space lively and full of positive energy.
As a community bookstore, all activities are free. The bookstore does not charge any fees.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Workawayers will have the chance to join simple daily life with our family and local community. You can spend time with children, join small gatherings, explore the village, and experience the rhythm of a coastal fishing area.
We’re happy to share Vietnamese culture, local food, and a bit of the language. You can also learn about building a small community project from the ground up.
At the same time, we’re excited to learn from you — your culture, ideas, creativity, and new ways of thinking. We believe this exchange will bring meaningful experiences for everyone involved.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
You will help create a friendly and creative space for local children. Activities include reading simple English stories, playing games, organizing books, and supporting small creative or garden tasks.
We usually spend 2–3 hours a day working together. It’s a shared experience where we learn from each other, exchange cultures, and build something meaningful as a team.
If you enjoy working with kids, being creative, and living a simple local life, you’ll be a great fit.

Language exchange happens naturally in our daily activities. Volunteers can speak simple English with the children through reading, drawing, games, and conversations. In return, we’re happy to help you learn some basic Vietnamese and understand local expressions and culture. It’s a relaxed and fun way to learn from each other.
Accommodation
We provide a clean, safe, and simple place to stay in our home, close to the sea. You will have a comfortable sleeping space with basic necessities.
Meals are shared in a family-style way. We usually provide local Vietnamese food, and you’re welcome to join us or cook together sometimes.
We keep things simple, but always warm and welcoming
What else ...
In your free time, you can enjoy the beach just nearby – swimming, relaxing, walking along the coast, or joining local activities like volleyball, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. You can also explore the village, visit local cafés, go cycling, or try simple snorkeling.
Getting around is easy. We can help you arrange a bicycle or motorbike if needed.
We live a simple and respectful lifestyle. We appreciate a clean, quiet, and friendly environment. Please help keep the space tidy, be mindful of noise, and respect local culture and the community.
