Bigotes (13y/blk/brwn) & Vigo (2y/grey) are autonomous farm dogs. They love playtime & treats & cuddles & can be left unattended.

Sunny (16y/ivory/brwn) is a sight-impaired (able to see light/shadow) city dog who came to the mountains to retire. He requires 100% supervision meaning he cannot be left alone. Sunny is super sweet & loves to cuddle & sunbathe all day as long as a human is nearby so he can feel safe. When he gets anxious, he has treats to help him calm down :)

Chibi is the sweetest, most playful little 1 year old kitten who is definitely the queen of the house. She requires lots of playtime to distract her from all the beautiful birds on the property :)

We are located 1.5 hrs from the airport in San Jose and 40 minutes from Arenal Volcano. There is a beautiful waterfall 6km from our property & a fresh water spring and river about 5 minutes walking from home. Downtown is about a 30 minute walk or 7 minute Uber ride. You can find anything from restaurants to movie theaters to shopping centers and local markets. The northern area is very diverse - you will be able to see the cloud forest in Platanar Volcano at Juan Castro Blanco National Park only 5 kms away in San Vicente, a very nice small mountain village with very friendly people. You can also enjoy Quesada downtown which is only 2 miles away, where you can visit the farmer's market every Thursdays/Fridays, butcher shops, bakeries, Central Market , Wal-Mart, or other local supermarkets. Do not forget to eat some local tacos at Viquez window on the south side of the Church across the street. There are also good hospital facilities and pharmacies in case you need them. There is a thermal water spring nearby (10 Kms) - $10 for Hotel El Tucano from 5 PM to 10 PM / $20 for all day or Hotel Termales del Bosque for $12. There is also a Zoo in La Marina very close to the springs. Another beautiful place to visit is Bajos del Toro where you will find stunning waterfalls. Then the jewel of the trip for tourists, La Fortuna at 46 Kms that is home of the famous Arenal Volcano with multiple adventure options for kids and adults (Zip lines, thermal water pools and hanging bridges, etc.), try luch at Rufino's Restaurant the best in town and visit the great waterfall at Río Fortuna, no need to take a tour, you get directly to the place and buy your entrance. If you like adventure you should not miss the white water rafting activities at Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí at 40Kms. There are other options further away (2 to 3 hours away) like El Venado Caves, Río Celeste or Laguna de Caño Negro within many more options or you can go to the beach in the Pacific to Playa Blanca or Jacó. Feel free to visit our family farm-to-table restaurant just across the street from our farm, open from Wednesday to Sunday for lunch & dinner. You can also coordinate a visit to the organic vegetable garden and the dairy and cheese factory.
