I was for 2 weeks and a half in the coopertiva, people and work I liked a lot, the work is varied and very bearable consists of accommodating the merchandise especially the clothes that are donations that people give, 2 times a week It is open to the public and my job was to watch and help. Both my manager Lea and President Paolo very good people
… read more who were all the time pending that this well. They received me very well, coming to look for me at the station and they waited for me with some courtesy purchases so that the first day I had a pasta to prepare myself.
In terms of housing I recommend going as a couple because in the afternoon and evening you are totally alone, you sleep there, the kitchen and the dining room at noon are shared as well as the washing machine, most of the media days, there was someone who prepared pasta and we all ate together, very interesting and pleasant. Thanks to my manager, who invited me to a weekend at his house and to 2 parties, I got to know the Italian culture up close.
The location of the cooperative is a half hour, 40 min. from Florence, you have to take 2 means of transport with the same ticket and you get there very easily.
a very positive experience if you like to be alone, at first I cost myself but I get used to it (if you are accompanied better).
Thank you all for everything! I'm going to miss you!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

So much to say about our stay!
We stayed 5 weeks. The best part of this experience was the people we met there. All the team was a dream to work with, they are all really welcoming, helpful and open minded. Even if they don’t all speak English, they all try to understand you and take the time to talk to you. They cook some very nice lunch one or

They all invite us to their homes during all the month, so we won't be on the street. We also got a very nice party with Roger on our last day, which was so nice (thanks Roger ;) )
Thanks so much to all of you !!!
Scandicci is isolated from the city, you can reach the city center in 1 hour with a bus then the tramway. The area is rural/industrial, and not the most beautiful place. The place where we lived was ok (we tried to decorate it so it will be nicer for the next volunteer), you have your own « room », kitchen and bathroom. The work is very pleasant, not very stressful. You mostly fold and hang clothes, clean the place and help the team when the store is open.
Overall, we had a very nice experience there ! Thanks crew, hope to see you another time !!

Anne and Maxim are staying with us since about 20 days. They are helpful, joyful, nice and they work very hard. We all are happy of their work in our second hand shop: they learn quickly and they are very fast and good doing the job of the day. They are calm and reliable people, clean and always ready to learn new skills.
Thank you Anna and thank

Scandicci itself is a very rural but industrial place in Florence area. There isnt much happening there, however, this center is a fantastic generator of ideas! Working with this great group of people on different tasks leaves you a warm feeling and you'll feel part of the family in a very short amount of time. I spent two weeks there, living on

I would be very happy to meet again soon! Thank you again, Paola and and keep up the good work! Hugs!!!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
