  Description

  We are a young family: Anja, Drejc, Bor (2.5 years old) and there is one more on the way, who will be joining us in December. We love spending time in nature: taking care of our garden, hiking in the hills, foraging for mushrooms, and enjoying the simple things in life. We’re looking forward to meeting new people and sharing experiences through Workaway.
  
  We live in Medvode, a small town just 10 km from Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
  
  We're looking for someone who would like to stay in our yurt, which is set in a beautiful clearing surrounded by a stream. It is
  perfect for cooling off during hot summer days. We'd love your help with maintaining our garden and taking care of the area around the yurt.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  Staying with us will give you oportunity to be in the nature and to learn how to live simple. You can learn about local gardening practices, seasonal living, traditional Slovenian dishes and how we try to live in harmony with the land.
  
  We’re happy to share stories, experiences, and customs. We can cook you some traditional meals from our garden, take you to the hills nearby (Polhograjski Dolomiti) or just light a fire and enjoy.

  Help

  We are looking for someone to help take care of our garden. This will include watering, weeding, harvesting, and similar tasks. We would also need some help whit the area around the yurt, which would mainly involved mowing the grass.

  Accommodation

  Your accomodation will be yurt as is seen from the pictures. It is equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, electricity, and drinking water. There is no Wi-Fi. You can find Wi-Fi at our house, which is around 500 m away from the yurt. We only have composting toilet in yurt, which you have to empty yourself. You’re welcome to use any vegetables from the garden. From time to time, we’ll invite you to join us for lunch so we can get to know each other better, but we will not be able to provide you all the meals.

  What else ...

  In your free time, you can relax by the stream, hike up a nearby hill, cycle to the warm spring Straža or to the natural swimming spot on the Sora River, go to near camping place Dragočajna. You can also take a bus or train to explore Ljubljana, the Gorenjska region, the seaside, the Soča River, and many other beautiful places across Slovenia. The whole country is easily accessible and will not take you long, since Slovenia is very small.
