We are on a journey building a new life, home, and community off-grid.
Dustin grew up in the mountains of Western Oregon, earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering and traveled the world (30+ countries) interested in learning simple truths and perspective from the beautiful tapestry of people's life choices and circumstance. I built a career working for Honda doing Engineering and leadership (still my day job) - and after a decade living in the city moved here in July 2016. With the help of many friends, family and travelers, we have been building a wonderful place to live and enjoy the bounty of cathartic blissful nature.

We are building an off grid homestead and nature retreat on 40 acres surrounded by the Talladega National Forest. Looking for select volunteers to help work and live alongside us.
We are working on hiking trails, and camp sites, gathering and chopping firewood, building a house for Grandma and Grandpa Parks on the other side of our property and making community fire circles.
Help is needed stacking firewood to fill the woodshed, feeding the chickens, cooking, cleaning in the community kitchen/dining pavilion and host's cabin, construction help and helping support the off grid homestead activities. Cleaning of host cabin and cooking shared meals with host family - not for retreat guests.
Volunteers are provided a pre setup tent with a real mattress, linens, sleeping bags and pillow for sleeping and common use of the kitchen / dining community pavilion (The Valhalla). Also, we have Actually Hot showers.
All food is provided, we usually do an evening meal all together and daytime meals are individual preparation.
Some help is needed supporting retreat guests (less than one hour per day), remaining hours are homestead support. Small cash pay is provided [$50/week] to cover the time helping with retreat business.
We are a clothing optional retreat and have commercial campgrounds. Some of the people, some of the time choose not to wear some or any of their clothes. We honor each persons individual clothing choices.
