I have a long-running project restoring a 200+ year old stone barn using lime mortar and clay. This year the roof is being built from local timber (Douglas fir and larch) which should be fun and give opportunity to learn new skills. I’m taking time off my PhD and a few friends are helping though the summer months. Afew extra hands would be great to help with the roof and repoint walls.

Help with Eco Projects
Set in a scenic hill top location with 360 degree views of the Highlands and in easy cycling distance from Loch Ness, the location is ideal to visit as a traveller, meet local people and experience the Highland crofting way of life.
Helpers will learn traditional and building skills such as repointing stonework and timber framing.
Accommodation is in a newly converted old barn which is well insulated and comfortable. Washing and cooking facilities are provided in the adjacent farmhouse.
Would appreciate volunteers keen to learn and fun to work with as well as seasoned builders.
