Description
Hi,
My names Liz and I'm turning my 5.4 hectare block into my own piece of paradise.
It's totally offgrid and I live by simple green principles.
Friendly cows who love their necks scratched and plenty of wild Kiwi birds. Our peninsula has the highest population of brown Kiwi in the world!
I enjoy having younger travellers around, you let me see the world through your eyes.
I'm a hobby beekeeper and used to teach organics and permaculture at Polytechnic so enjoy sharing knowledge.
The property's on a mangrove estuary about 30 minutes from Kerikeri town and an easy walk to historic Marsden Cross, the site of the first mission to NZ. The Puketi Kauri forest and Matauri Bay are not too far off, as well.
There's swimming, tramping, two kayaks, fishing and pick your own oysters...maybe we'll take a sail on the yacht, if time and tide permits.

Im a typical Northlander, culturally...I grew up here and had a Maori godmother along with English parents so you will get that experience.
It's a historic area as NZ was first settled here so it's a 'must see' culturally speaking :-)Help
Right now there's a lot of DIY going on and the setting up of paddocks.
My villa is from 1900s and was moved up from Hamilton in 2 pieces. My overseas visitors find this fascinating and it was amazing to see it done.
Weed control, gardening, fencing, painting, plastering...the list is long lolLanguages

I'm happy to help with English, I've taught it as a second language I'm very impressed with people who speak more than one language and English is hard!Accommodation
You can choose from full board and accommodation to whatever suits you best.
You can stay in the house with me or pick a private spot to pitch one of my tents. What else ...
This area is where Europeans first arrived so there's lots of historic sites, also good walks.
Most towns in Northland are quite small but fun to explore in a day or two off. The area is geared towards tourism, especially ecotourism.A little more information

She is a clever but easy-going youngster who has a good sense of humour.
She offered to help with chores that I hadnt given her and was easy about every aspect of her stay.
Unfortunately, the work on offer is better suited to guys, or women who do such things...eg. sorting gorse, clearing a garden turned wilderness… read more

His English is fine, although he says it is not good.
Thanks for the backgammon games, my friend!
I can recommend her and Jade to all hosts
I think it's amazing that she has traveled to the other side of the world on her own, at 18.
I highly recommend her.
Very friendly to animals which is always appreciated
I emailed then on 14 Oct to check if they were getting on ok.
Apparently they'd decided they'd rather head south and may visit me in December instead. Nice to know lol
I'm sure it shouldn't work like this but they're the second pair to… read more
He is not expensive either.
His only drawback is that he sometimes is on island time...but then it's understandable as he is on holiday and wasnt working per hour.
I recommend him to anyone needing a sound electrician
thanks Liz for everything 😀
Ask her to make you her quiche.
Honestly, it's the best I've tasted
