My fiance and I live on a 20 acre farm in Northern Coastal Colombia. We are in the early stages of building our home, treehouses for tourists and an outdoor education center. We live a 15 minute drive from the Caribbean sea (which you can see from the top of the property) and a beautiful river borders the land. Secret waterfalls and swimming holes are all around. Even though the property is quite secluded it is a short mototaxi drive to the nearest town and 50 minutes to the city of Santa Marta. The entrance to Tayrona Nationl Park is a 20 minute drive as is the entrance to The Lost City Trek. Please be aware that other than motorbike, there is a 15 minute walk from where the car is parked to the property. We are looking for some jungle loving, responsible volunteers to help with fence building, dog walking and general helping hands.

Help around the house
You will receive free board in our house and you will have food on the days you work. With food, we buy groceries for you to use and prepare for yourselves. You can use our little van when we are not using it and when its not available mototaxis are the best way to get around.
We ask that you work four days a week five hours a day and the rest of the time you are free to explore the area, roadtrip or relax.
The farm is on the river, it is very quiet, you can hike or swim, or float down the river. If you want a change of scene there are lots of parties nearby, horseriding, tours, beaches and indigenous cultures and we are really happy to help you find what you are interested in.
Right now we need we are looking for some jungle loving, responsible volunteers to help with fence building, dog walking and general helping hands. We have some daily chores like walking the dogs, path raking and watering some plants but the main task now is to build some fencing which can be quite sweaty work! We would also like to be able to leave the place and the dogs with you occasionally when we are not there which might include greeting guests who come to stay in the treehouse.
Dog walking here is pretty fun because you can take them along the river, to the secret waterfall or to local beaches.
You can spend your days off just relaxing at the finca or travelling around, Tayrona Park is just 20 minutes away, as is Palomino. La Guajira is an accessable road trip and you are welcome to use our surfboards if you want to surf at the local beaches (10 mins by mototaxi). If we are not using it you are also welcome to use our car for roadtrips.
You will need to be adaptable as the house is in the jungle with plenty of wildlife, it is still under construction and sometimes the power goes out or the water, you've got to be able to go with the flow!
You will have the guest room in our house (double bed). The house is unfinished but beautiful. it has a big living area up in the trees. It has a view of the river, fruits growing all around it. We have a projector to watch movies on in the evenings, board games and books. The kitchen is basic buy nice to cook in and the bathroom is shared with us.
