Between the limits of Panama and Colombia is one of the great natural treasures of the planet, considered one of the last tropical rainforests in contact with the sea, one of the youngest geological zones of the planet and the refuge of 10% of the world's biodiversity.
In this region is our Nature Reserve, 60 hectares of forest. Natural Reserves is a civil society movement, it means, territories acquired by private individuals with the aim of conserving and recovering this natural environment, as well as learning to live making an adequate and sustainable use of natural resources.
THE SPACE IS PHISICALLY DEMANDING.
IT’S IMPORTANT THAT VOLUNTEERS SPEAK AND UNDERSTAND FLUENTLY SPANISH.

The Natural Reserve is located in Bahía Trigana, Chocó, Colombia.

Entre los límites de Panamá y Colombia se encuentran los bosques del Darién, uno de los grandes tesoros naturales, considerado una de las ultimas selvas húmedas tropicales en contacto con el mar, albergando el 10% de la biodiversidad del planeta.
En esta región del Caribe Colombiano se encuentra la Reserva Natural Sasardi, protegiendo 60 hectáreas de bosque húmedo tropical. Las Reservas Naturales son un movimiento de la sociedad civil, esto es, terrenos de propiedad privada comprados por ciudadanos con el objetivo de conservar la naturaleza, así como de aprender a vivir haciendo un uso adecuado, responsable y sustentable de los recursos naturales.
Un espacio natural lleno de magia y tranquilidad.
En la Reserva no hay electricidad.

Aquí, os proponemos experimentar diferentes formas de vida, de asociación y de relación con la naturaleza, un reencuentro con nosotros mismos a través del trabajo con la tierra, de la convivencia colaborativa y del respeto a todas las formas de vida.
Nos gustaría que los voluntari@s sean personas abiertas a una convivencia solidaria y colaborativa, basada en el cuidado y el respecto del espacio, de la naturaleza y de los otros compañeros.
Personas pro-activas, creativas, generosas, con ganas de enseñar y aprender, que quieran vivir de una forma más natural y acorde a la naturaleza.
Help
The volunteer dedicates around 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, to carrying out the activities and has two days off.
The activities in which they can participate are:
- Cleaning and maintenance of spaces.
-Preparation of food.
-Construction using sustainable techniques, use of natural and local elements, such as guadua, mud, ash, stone, etc.
-Enabling spaces for aqueduct tanks, for water distribution network. We are building a new space to relocate the water tanks and improve water distribution and safety.
-Activities of restoration, maintenance and organization of the facilities. In this sense, we highlight activities of carpentry, joinery, painting, among others.
-Environmental and artistic education giving workshops for children in the school of the Sardí community.
-Cleaning and preparation of spaces for planting.
-Preparation of seedbeds and their care.
-Preparation of compost and fertilizers for the germination of trees and for planting.
-Sowings of turmeric, ginger, corn, yams, cassava, banana, chili, garlic, lemon balm, basil, among others.
-Elaboration of organic products from the crops, such as jams, sauces, condiments, etc.
The type of activities to be carried out will depend on the time of year and the needs of the Reserve.

El voluntari@ dedica alrededor de 5 horas diarias, 5 días a la semana, a realizar las actividades y tiene libre dos días.
Las actividades en las que pueden participar son:
- Limpieza y mantenimiento de los espacios.
-Preparación de los alimentos.
-Construcción mediante técnicas sostenibles, utilización de elementos naturales y locales, tales como guadua, barro, ceniza, piedra, etc.
-Habilitación de espacios para tanques de acueducto, para red de distribución de agua. Estamos construyendo un nuevo espacio para reubicar los tanques de agua y mejorar la distribución del agua y su seguridad.
-Actividades de restauración, mantenimiento y organización de las instalaciones. En este sentido, destacamos actividades de carpintería, ebanistería, pintura, entre otras.
-Educación ambiental y artística impartiendo talleres para los niños en la escuela de la comunidad Sardí.
-Limpieza y habilitación de espacios para la siembra.
-Preparación de semilleros y cuidado de los mismos.
-Preparación de compost y abonos para la germinación de árboles y para las siembras.
-Siembras de cúrcuma, jengibre, maíz, ñame, yuca, plátano, ají, ajo, toronjil, albahaca, entre otros.
-Elaboración de productos orgánicos de las cosechas, tales como mermeladas, salsas, condimentos, etc.
El tipo de actividades a realizar dependerá de la época del año y de las necesidades de la Reserva.

Accommodation
Volunteers will sleep in shared rooms, each one has a mat, pillow, sheets and mosquito net.
Generally, we accept four volunteers at the same time.
It has a dry bath, which does not pollute the waters and returns in the form of fertilizer to the Earth what she has given us in food.
WE DO NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY. If you want to connect to the Internet or upload any electronic equipment you will have to go down to the village.
The kitchen is gas and wood stove. The food is mainly vegetarian.
The elaboration of meals is carried out and enjoyed by all the inhabitants of the space, through a system of rotation in which every day a person will be in charge of the kitchen.

Los voluntari@s dormirán en habitaciones compartidas, cada uno dispone de una colchoneta, almohada, sábanas y mosquitera.
Generalmente, aceptamos cuatro voluntari@s al mismo tiempo.
Se cuenta con un baño seco, el cual no contamina las aguas y devuelve en forma de abono a la Tierra lo que ella nos ha dado en alimento.
NO TENEMOS ELECTRICIDAD. Si desea conectarse a Internet o cargar cualquier equipo electrónico tendrá que bajar al pueblo.
La cocina es de gas y fogón de leña. La comida es principalmente vegetariana.
La elaboración de las comidas se realiza y se disfruta entre todos los habitantes del espacio, mediante un sistema de rotación en el cual cada día una persona va a ser la encargada de la cocina.
