Description
(español abajo)
//At the moment, we only host couples, for a minimum stay of 10 days//
We are a french and colombian couple. We have been living in the colombian Andes for 8 years. Our farm is located at 2900m, near a native forest with beatifull vegetation and birds (including orchids, and the famous mountain tucan).
Our main activities are duck raising and beekeeping. In the farm we also have sheep, vermiculture, a dog and a cat, an organic garden, and a few chicken. We also prepare gastronomic products derivated from ducks (rillettes, confit...), bees (mead, turrón,...), and other crafts (beer, rum, essential oils...).
We have been receiving volunteers for 2 years now and with their help we have built our house and organised our farm. During that time we have been living in our tiny house, which we also built.
Now that the house is finished, Grégoire's brother and his family are living with us for one year, and during that time the idea is to make them discover the country. For that reason the way we host volunteers has changed a bit: from now on we offer to share and learn our life at the farm during a few days, and then we leave you in charge of the farm while we escape with the family for a few days. For that reason also we only host couples or 2 travelers at the time.

We can help you with improving your spanish (and french if interested), and planning your trip around colombia. We can also share our knowledge in ecological construction and agriculture.
Our way of life is simple and happy. We like good food, and we mix colombian and french habits. We don't have any TV. There is a quite good internet connection.
Our farm is located at 2900m, near a native forest with beatifull vegetation and birds (including orchids, and the famous mountain tucan). It is close to the Chingaza Natural National Park, an exceptional ecosistem, very typical from our region. Close from here we can also visit the sacred lake of Guatavita.

No tenemos televisor.

Help
(español abajo)
The daily routine help we ask for is to take care of the animals twice a day: feed them, give water, clean the cages, doing the daily report of breeders activity, etc.
Once this is done, if you are interested and their is time left, there are a lot of other tasks you can help with: beekeeping, cooking, maintenance of the garden and green areas, participate in daily households (kitchen, dishes), some ecological building and other projects depending on what is going on when you visit us.
-------------------------------------------------

We live very close to the Chingaza Natural National Park, that can be visited.
There are nice hikes from the farm and around the village.
We are also located at 1h far from the sacred Guatavita lake.
We live in the countryside but are quite close from the village (20min by car) and from Bogotá (1h30). There is a rural bus service and public buses from the village, and they work quite well.
We live in a "cold" area, no tropical climate here!
-------------------------------------------------
