    Description

Hi, I am Beate and I live in a small house in south-west Berlin with my boyfriend and my two kids (14 and 15). It is a nice place to live with a (wild) garden in a good neighbourhood. Most of the time the house is very chaotic (with two kids this age that´s just how things are and I am not much better ;)). We can offer you a guest room with its own bathroom and a tiny kitchen. The kids are usually just here every second week (and sometimes inbetween).
As the kids have breakfast and lunch in school and I am often not here or just don´t have big meals, we generally appreciate it if everybody takes care of his/her own groceries and meals. Depending on our and your schedule we would appreciate it if we can have meals together once or twice a week.

Maybe good to know: If my reply rate is low the most common reason is that vlounteers keep writing me when my availibility is red (sometimes for month) and I do not check my workaway emails during this time. I always answer to requests when my availability is green or yellow (you can see this in the calander).

We probably do not have time for big sightseeing trips but we could have a good time having some coffee or ice cream in the garden, cooking/eating together sometimes and maybe doing projects together. If we have time (which is somtetimes tricky) we love playing music (there is a piano and several guitars), card- and boardgames, pool (not here unfortunately) and more or less professional table football. Probably we can teach you some German. You will definetely have enough time for yourself and due to good public transportation it´s easy to reach all parts of berlin.

I could need some help with the maintenance and the cleaning of the house. Little things here and there (mechanical or technical skills very welcome). The garden could need some treatment and love. I could as well need help with installing the lamps or fitting some racks on the wall. Cooking for us or cooking together occasionally could be nice. There is a lot i can imagine. Just write me what you can offer and we will see if it fits :).

You will have your own room, bathroom and kitchenette in the basement of our house. There is a big window for enough daylight and it´s lovely cool in the summer. There is another room/appartment upstairs which we may use for worawayers occasionally this year.

You can reach the berlin city center within 20 to 30 minutes. The S1 is the nearest trainline (S-Station Botanischer Garten or S Lichterfelde West). In the nearby neighbourhood are some grocery stores and a few cafés, but it is not the "Berlin night life" center.

There are some lakes not too far from here, which you can reach with public transportation or a bicycle. The botanical garden and a nice canal and park for walking or running are close as well.

    Only non-smokers please!
