    Description

We are a family of two parents and four children aged 11, 9, 4 and 2. We live on a 0.75 hectare homestead in southern Sweden. It contains three houses: One big where we live. One fairly big suitable for a family and one small suitable for a single person or a couple. All houses have kitchen and bathrooms. We welcome families, couples and singles.

We grow our own fruits and vegetables, we also have a botanical garden.

We cook once a day. You decide to what degree you prefer to share our meals. During most of the year our fruits and vegetables are home-grown.

We speak Swedish and English well and German, French and Spanish less well. We are very interested in humans and like to meet people from different locations and backgrounds.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

People who volunteer at our place can participate in our daily homesteading work. We hope to learn more about cultures and living conditions of foreign countries. In particular we would like to meet other families with children who might want to interact with our children.

    Help

Volunteers are welcome to join us in our daily chores. We run what amounts to a very small family farm which means that the type of work we do is very varied and volunteers have a wide range of options to choose from.

Most of our time is spent growing fruits and vegetables. This includes everything from very simple tasks like mowing the lawn (we use the cuttings as cover in our vegetable garden) to more complex tasks like grafting new fruit trees. Other types of chores we do in our garden are planting, weeding, watering and harvesting. As a volunteer you are free to try out what interests you.

Apart from the above tasks there are many smaller tasks that we also welcome help with. It is everything from cooking and cleaning indoors to repairing and maintaining our buildings outdoors. Even playing with our children would be helpful to us since it frees up time for us to do other things.

The main point here is that we have plenty of things we need help with and everything you as a volunteer want to contribute with is helpful. We also have significant experience in gardening and construction and we are more than happy to share our knowledge and teach you new things, no matter your previous skill level.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Our property contains three houses: One big where we live. One fairly big suitable for a family. It has five bedrooms, one kitchen, two bathrooms, one light area for play or exercise or recreation. Everything a family needs.

We also offer a small house that is suitable for a single person or a couple. It contains one bedroom/livingroom and one kitchen and bathroom.

We provide four meals a day of the kind of food we eat. Everyone in the family is an omnivore except one who eats meat-free and low-gluten, so lacto-ovo vegetarian and low-gluten food can be arranged. You decide to what degree you prefer to share our meals or organize your own meals in the kitchens of our volunteer houses, where we provide some basic ingredients.

During most of the year our fruits and vegetables are home-grown.
