    Description

Come and spend some time in nature on our two acre heritage homestead in Roberts Creek. We have chickens, turkeys, a dog, a cat, two bearded dragon lizards, and large permaculture gardens and an orchard. The ocean is a ten minute walk down the road. The general store and the village of Roberts Creek are a twenty minute walk. Taking the bus into the nearby towns of Gibsons and Sechelt is quick and easy.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Roberts Creek is a chill place where creativity and community really come together. The locals are big on art and music and there are regular board game nights and live music and trivia nights. People here also care a lot about the environment so there are lots of nature activities. It’s a laid-back, friendly vibe where you can easily connect with others and share new ideas.

    Help

We are always in need of an extra set of hands to help out around here on our 100-year-old property. Some types of help needed include mulching, landscaping, pruning, gardening, removal of invasive species, weeding, digging and adding soil amendments, seeding and transplanting, harvesting and preserving, cooking and cleaning, general maintenance, and more!

This work exchange is for 20 hours per week and is based on a five-day work week of 4 hours per day during your stay. I am looking for folks who are independent. We would love to welcome a single person or a couple who are travelling and would like to check out and spend time in the amazing arts community of Roberts Creek.

Accommodation is in a clean, safe, and comfortable camper. There is a large queen bed with clean comfy bedding. It is fully self-contained, with water and a sink, fridge, stove, oven. There is a camp toilet just outside the camper but Workawayers can use the house toilet and shower and laundry.

As part of the exchange, I will provide breakfast and lunch provisions for the volunteers. Dinners will be the full responsibility of the volunteers although we are happy to share family dinners when possible.
