Description
Come and spend some time in nature on our two acre heritage homestead in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. We have chickens, turkeys, two rescue dogs, a bearded dragon lizard, permaculture gardens and a small orchard. A beautiful beach is a ten minute walk down the road. The general store and the funky village of Roberts Creek are a twenty minute walk. We are one of the few Workaways on the Sunshine Coast where you can easily walk to a bus stop or to the beach. Taking the bus into the nearby towns of Gibsons and Sechelt is quick and easy.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Roberts Creek is a chill place where creativity and community really come together. The locals are big on art and music and there are regular board game nights and live music and trivia nights. People here also care a lot about the environment so there are lots of nature activities. It’s a laid-back, friendly vibe where you can easily connect with others and share new ideas.
Help
We are always in need of an extra set of hands to help out around here on our 100-year-old property. Some types of help needed include cooking, cleaning, mulching, landscaping, pruning, gardening, removal of invasive species, weeding, and adding soil amendments, seeding and transplanting, harvesting and preserving, general maintenance, renovating our log cabin, and more!
This work exchange is for 20 hours per week and is based on a five-day work week of 4 hours per day during your stay. I am looking for folks who are independent. We would love to welcome a single person or a couple who are travelling and would like to check out and spend time in the amazing arts community of Roberts Creek.Languages spoken

Accommodation is either in our guest room in our home or in a clean and comfortable camper that has a large queen bed with comfortable bedding. The camper is fully self-contained, with water and a sink, fridge, stove, oven. There is a camp toilet just outside the camper but Workawayers can use the house toilet and shower and laundry.
We will provide breakfast and lunch provisions for the volunteers. We are happy to share family dinners and would love help with cooking and cleaning! What else ...
The beach is just a ten minute walk down the road. There is amazing hiking nearby too. There is a bus stop right at the foot of our driveway to get into the local towns of Gibsons and Sechelt -- no car needed!

Karen and Ryan are such warm and generous people and they made me feel at home right away. The communication was great throughout and the tasks were simple and well-explained. I typically worked 4 hours or less each day meaning I had plenty of time to explore Robert’s Creek and the surrounding areas.
