    Description

I a working middle aged woman who needs help around the property and gardens. I love to meet new people and share travelling stories. I am interested in this program to open my mind to other cultures and local ideas for sustainable gardening at an affordable price. I have scoliosis and three herniated discs so I need help to set up and maintain my property and would appreciate help around the house.
Vancouver Island is a wonderful hub of outdoor activity, hiking, beaches, surfing, bicycling, camping and even skiiing on Mount Washington are all available with in two hours of me since I am centrally located. So much to see and do, even in our rainy warm winters it is lush and green here.
I run businesses with my grown son, and we take care of this property together. We have a large house that we run the businesses out of. There is a motorhome for private accommodations or a bedroom whichever you prefer.
We would like to build a greenhouse, create some gardens and chop wood. We need help clearing a small portion of the backyard. We would also like some general help of cutting grass and landscaping. The land is already completely organic. We would like help gathering herbs and packaging them and help with the chicken coop. Thank you

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I was born in Canada, in Ontario but my family is from another country. I speak a little bit of Dutch from what I can remember. I have travelled to Australia, Sweden, Holland, Mexico, USA, and most of Canada. There are many more places I’d like to visit!
I can help guide you for local attractions, and most outdoor activities.
There is no public transportation here where I live so I am willing to drive you to town for shopping and things you need.
I love to learn about new cultures and would love for you to cook your authentic traditional dishes for us to try.

    Help

I would like help with housework, raking, cutting grass, splitting wood, organizing and clean up, painting and various other tasks since I can’t lift anything over 15 pounds. I am usually here to guide you with tasks. You’ll be mostly doing the tasks on your own without supervision.
