    Cobbers desperately needed!!!
We are cobbing our new house all September /October and need lots of willing hands.. Everyone is invited to a big cobbing party.....

If you are interested in Restoration/cob/cordwood/shake roofing/natural carpentry now is the time to come and help...

We are renovating a 150 year old stacked wood cottage....the foundations are done and we are now creating a cobwood facade. framing the old structure to keep it up. re-roofing it, adding a rocket stove and generally playing at being builders in pants and crocs....

We sleep in the tent city, we eat good foraged food on the fire, we work in the day and share life as we sit and listen to the birds in the evening....Join us for a beautiful time doing a beautiful thing....bring your friends....have a holiday in the countryside bringing an old place back to life...

    ...ever close your eyes,-
    ever stop and listen,
    ever feel alive-
    and you have nothing missing.
    You don't need a reason-
let the day go on and on...

We are happy and smiley little latvian/english family - Linda and Joel with two small daughters who just enjoy magic of the world and teamwork in everything what we do.. :)

..just lost in nature and touched its beauty...
...and ART IS EVERYWHERE...and love is everywhere...
We can find inspiration in all ways we can....
....In tall grass, small old town with smell of spring or big city with graphical glasses, sound of grasshopper,or in old old yellow newspapers list who can tell us a story...

We really enjoy all what life offers to us...
All these magical moments, random possibilities, lovely people... And incredible nature .. :D
we like people a lot... :) and we like to share... :)
Share good moments, time, smiles, picnics and millions of small details what are all around...

..we like to jump high, laugh out loud and to celebrate the Life every day... :)
    “What day is it?"
    "It's today," squeaked Piglet.
    "My favorite day," said Pooh.

Aware living... And appreciation... That is our meditation...

Everything what we do has a proper meaning. Everything what we have created around us has a deep value.. We are doing our best to be the best example for our children.
We eat healthy, we live healthy, we think healthy... We love life and we enjoy fruits of our work.
We think that any job connected to nature is so enjoyable.. It is a lifestyle.. It is a life...

    Welcome to our home.. :)

At the moment we are building our countryside house and it includes heavy jobs ( digging, lifting, stone moving etc) as well as cleaning around, a lot of cobbing, and doing hundreds of small jobs.

    1.Gardening and landscape creating:
    - We have our garden where we are growing our vegetables,- so part of the time could be helping in the garden... weeding, planting, seeding etc.
    - In the Spring time it would be all about prepering soil, getting ready greenhouse, seeding pots and a lot of different tasks for landscape improving.
    - Through all summer there would be a lot of grass cutting (with oldfashioned scythe)

    2. Natural building:
Every year we have some new project going on.
This year we are building cob house, terrace and rocket stove.

    3. Canning for winter:
When all vegetables, fruits, berries and mushrooms are ready (in July/ August/September)- there is time to put them into yummy home made things. To make some jam, juices, chatneys or pickles... very creative part. :)

    4. Plants and Herbs:
Collecting/cutting (into small pieces) and sorting herbs and plants for tea/herb mixes all summertime depending from the right moon phase and the readiness of the plant....

    5. Wood preperation for Winter:
-In Spring time there would be proper time for tree chopping in the wood - to prepare logs for the Winter. After that there is time for chopping them smaller and then nicely stack them inside the barn. This is going to be in different stages.

    6. Foraging food for every meal.
If you would like to learn about wild plants and how to include them in to your meals then we are happy to share.
And we always cook our evening meals on open outside fire.. Everything tastes better.. And all life is on front of you...

We are very opened for things and work..
... As a family homestead there is no proper time scale for things. There is wonderful cooperation with nature, with each other, with mood, with weather..
We work and we rest.. Sometimes more and sometimes less..
    Slow living, but efficient working...

    - So there would be proper daytime tasks, but a lot of things would be just a daily routine with no properly set time to do them (for an instance: foraging food , bring wood for house, watering flowers , tidying the house, making sure that countryside is ''prepered for bed-time'' and other daily family tasks.)

...for us volunteering meens being part of family-so it is nice that everyone is just making sure that things are nicely done around all of us..

...we prefer very flexible life, - so no special rules around us... just common sense and friendly attitude... :)
.. And you just need to love simple, honest, natural lifestyle... And need to be ready to dive deep into it.

    - motivated to be exactly with our family and motivated with anything while you are here.
    - please, please, please no lazy people..!!! It's not that you need to be experienced, - not at all.. You just simply can't be lazy.
    - self initiative is must at any time.. We have already 2 children, we don't need more.
-when you write to us please write personal letter not copy paste.. And write WHY exactly you would like to stay with us and WHAT you can bring with your personality and yourself.
    - you should be pretty sociable, balanced between self sufficient and able to be wonderful, cheerful friend /helper.. Most important for us is your personality, emotional depth and communication in general.
    - if we would feel that you could be wonderful future volunteer friend, then we would arrange call with you.. We like to hear person's voice.. It says a lot..

So, to be honest.. As you see we are very picky when it comes to choosing our volunteers.. Because we don't need volunteers by default.. We need helping friends.. Helping souls who can resonate with us. Who gives inspiration and receives it as well..
