We are a vibrant family of four adults and four young adults aged 21-25 - two boys and two girls. We have dogs, cats, and a 100 year old house which always seems to be a natural gathering place. Our property is a seven acre, sunny slice of heaven in Metchosin BC, just 30 minutes west of Victoria. Enjoy a morning coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean and mountains. Nearby are some of the best beaches and hikes on the south island. We operate a small hobby farm and
we have space this spring and will be building a deck for the house. We would love to host someone with carpentry skills.

Creating/ Cooking family meals
Whether you are interested in practicing english, exploring the wilderness of Vancouver Island, or developing cooking, gardening or construction skills, our house offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which to learn.
Volunteering will vary according to what needs to be done as well as skills being offered. Projects we always need help with: gardening, pulling invasive weeds, woodwork, painting.
We have a suite which is quiet and perfect for up to two people to share.
Public transit exists but can be a challenge in this neighbourhood, so having your own car is definitely an advantage. We are close to The Galloping Goose - a walk/ bike path which takes you into town. It's about 1.25 hrs by bike to downtown Victoria. A 1 hr drive northwest takes you past Sooke and onto a rugged part of Vancouver Island's coast. There are several good beaches out there as well as access to the Juan de Fuca Trail.
