  Description

  I’m a 33 year old single dad with a five year old daughter. We’ve got a 10 hectare block in the Otways where we’re building a house. We have sheep and chickens and have started planting an orchard and building a veggie garden. We’ve got a creek and wetland that we’re restoring and some woodland where we’re doing ecological burning. We love building swings and climbing trees, playing cards and cooking, learning about plants and animals and the ecology of our area and much more.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  I’ve traveled all over the world and speak a bit of French. I love connecting people into the community and you’re always welcome to join in for yoga, footy, basketball, snorkeling, cards, pottery, swimming, running or whatever else I’ve got on at the time. I love learning about foreign cultures and travel, what your hopes and dreams are and your politics and religion. I know most of my local plants and birds and am learning about invertebrates and fungi and would love to share this with you.

  Help

  We have an ever changing series of odd tasks based on our current projects and your skill levels and interests. This could include tree planting, growing veggies, building swings, fixing the house, harvesting honey, sheep help, track clearing, mowing, preserving food and more! I’m happy to share what I’ve learnt and teach new skills and always interested in learning more.

  Accommodation

  We’ve got a nice little seperate hut with a double bed in it plenty of books to read and a composting toilet nearby. Help yourself to food and we’ll do a joint meal in the evenings 🙂
