    Description

We are Pascale, Guy and our daughter Fanette. We live in a tiny village in the beautiful valley of Ubaye, in the Alpes de Haute Provence. We got four horses and two cats who are like family to us. There's a garden, and our daughter runs a 1 hectare arboretum (botanic garden) and squirel park open to public during summer time, where visitors can explore the forest and discover land art.

If you are fond of nature, fishing, hiking, kayaking, contemplation, animals and open spaces, this touristic spot is made for you!
We would be glad to teach you French and help you with your adventure projects. The house is a bit far from the main city Barcelonnette but we can give you a lift if you need as we go there every day. Close to the village is a bistrot/ pub where they regularly play live music. There are lakes and rivers too where you can enjoy a sunbath. We bought a big caravan especially for the volunteers, with separate private facilities, as we think people like having their private space. Food is provided but we will be glad if you sometimes want to have a meal with us and share your story and your culture. We got plenty of music instrument if you like playing.

  • Help

    Help

Retired, we feel less and less capable of doing different tasks and projects, including gardening, choping wood for winter, the building of a gypsy roulotte, moving horses from a field to another ( you can even do horseriding, beginner or not), making hay... and a lot of other things. So we would need to have a hand for these different tasks. Our daughter will may need somone somtimes to do small tasks in the arboretum. New land art ideas are welcome. The help vary depending on the weather and the season. We propose 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. It can be less or more compact, according to what there is to do and what you want to discover in the surroundings.

If you think this place is your next stop, we will be glad to welcome you in our green paradise. We are not vegan but if you have special diet, please tell us so that we can anticipate. We do not tolerate drugs. The nearest big city is Gap, but there are buses that runs to La Fresquiere, or we can arrange to pick you up in Barcelonnette or elsewhere, as long as it's not a two hours drive.

From now, we can welcome volunteer from the 15th of June to the 15th of July 2026.

    Can't wait to meet you!
