Description
Hello! We are a Napu Runa Family (Kichwa Amazonico) with a small project in the jungle near Archidona, Napo, Ecuador Amazon, with the main purposes being sharing and conserving the biodiversity of our nature and the ancestral Knowledge.
We live on a fruitful land that provides us with bananas, cacao, guayusa, yucca, pineapple, and more.
There are some chickens, small dogs and cats running around (:
This is the house of the well respected Parents, who lived their whole lives in the Ecuadorian Amazon, living a pure life according to the cultural principles of our ancestors.
We, Marilin, Muja, Rusbel, Angelina, Bruce, Katherine, and our Intercultural Dance Expression Group Guys, we are here daily, facilitating and supporting the projects together with the volunteers.
That, together with protecting our main goals. One seed at a time!
To support our family work (cultivating food, jungle conservation, keeping the cultural knowledge alive), we organize jungle adventures for our visitors and Volunteers for 3 days minimum, like jungle tours, jungle Survival Adventures, jungle Camping, waterfall visits, cave exploring. These activities or visits to our Sacred land are very precious to us. Therefore needs the volunteer to contact us about his/her interest in doing these with us.
Meanwhile anyone who visits can learn a lot Napu Runa knowledge and the energy of the jungle, the cultural artisanal work and much more!
Many of their children and grandchildren pass by the domain regularly, family is very important for us and you will be part of it!
We welcome anyone who wants to explore pure life in nature and learn about our Life, Language and Culture Knowledge. Most of all, we like a good energy exchange :) Text us if you want to become part of our family.
We offer very good conditions to live with the family and beautiful but simple wooden cabañas equipped with private bathrooms.
Important: Our Fathers, only speak Runa Shimi (kichwa Amazonico) and little spanish. Roberto Runa Shimi, Spanish, English and Basic litle bit French. And other family like Rusbel Speak Spanish and English too and others family members speak Runa Shimi and spanish.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will be living with a traditional, loving NapuRuna (Kichwa Amazonico) family in the Ecuadorian jungle (but very reachable from nearby town Archidona).
- You will be able to get to know the Napu Runa (Kichwa Amazonico) jungle culture in the purest way possible.
- Eat our foods like Yuca, Plátano verde, Maito -fish or chicken steamed in leaf, all of our fruits,...
- Be part of our adventurous activities
- See how we make artisanal works
- Refresh yourself with a swim in our river (3 min walking)
- Sleep with the jungle sounds at night
Nearby is a Kichwa community called Mariposa. For day trips you can go the caves, one of the many beautiful waterfalls and river swimming spots nearby.
We are very close to the city of Tena, where a lot of adventures can be booked (like white water rafting, monkey spotting, more waterfalls and jungle lagoons,...)
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
Your help here will be varied and depends a lot on what is needed at the moment. We don't have a working schedule, we mostly want you to be part of our family as we go about doing our things, so there is a lot of flexibility here.
We're especially happy to welcome people with building experience as there is always construction work to be done!
Also, people with marketing/promo and funding campaign experience or photographers and videographers for that matter are very welcome. We are always open for ideas and independent work of the volunteers. Here is a lot of space and potential, waiting to be used. Feel free to speak with us about your ideas, we would be happy to realize things together. For us is important have people around with the heart and energy to help our family and this beautiful place.
If you have no experience in those areas, your positive energy is the most important to us (:
Currently:
- We need someone experienced in funding campaigns to be able to build and expand our project in a durable way.
- We need people with video and fotografer experience for promotion our project
- We are looking for someone who can create us a website
- Once the new wooden platform is finished, we can use all sorts of creativity here, for decoration or making small furniture, anything that can improve the space and make it an inviting, cosy place.
- Helping us with cooking of the meals and maintenance around the terrain are constants.
- We would also love to learn more English or another language.
Also, feel free to let us know in advance if you have any skills or ideas in mind that you would like to use here!
