Golden sunlight reflects across calm ocean water at sunset, with scattered clouds, anchored sailboats, rocky shoreline, sandy beach, and distant land silhouettes beneath a tranquil sky.
A man wearing sunglasses and a black shirt smiles at the camera on a sunny beach. Blue sky and people playing in the sea behind him.
This cozy bedroom has wood-paneled walls, a neatly made bed with a gray blanket, a large window with a valance, and soft natural light shining in.
Three small birds are perched on the bare branches of a tree. The background is blurred, showing greenery and a body of water under daylight.

    Description

My name’s Nate, an American living on a quiet coastal property overlooking the Whitsundays, about half an hour from Airlie Beach. I’m building a small native forest with flowers and trees, creating a space for wildlife and a calm, beachside way of living. It’s a relaxed, nature focused environment with ocean views, good energy, and a strong connection to the outdoors.

Kangaroos graze the property. Sea turtles nest on the shore. In season, humpback whales pass offshore close enough to be worth stopping for. The Great Barrier Reef is nearby, the Whitsunday Islands are on your doorstep, and Airlie Beach is half an hour away when you want a change of scene.

Your host is American, well-travelled, and runs a genuinely welcoming home. Expect good conversation, a thoughtful setup, and a very active household.

You'll be spending time on a coastal property in one of Australia's most beautiful corners, contributing a few hours each day to something that actually matters: building a native forest from the ground up, tending land with ocean views, and keeping a beautiful home running smoothly. The ideal match is someone who is looking to fit in with family life.

Creative types and self-motivated people looking to exchange some support and respite in their travels are most welcome.

If it's working well, we can talk about extending from there.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We’re about 30 minutes from Airlie, where you’ll find shops, beaches, and boat trips to the islands. There’s no public transport here, so having your own car is useful, though we head into town regularly and can often give a lift. References and a background check will be requested prior to arrival. The area is surrounded by walking tracks, forest trails, and around 20 kilometres of beaches to explore. It’s a peaceful, nature-filled place for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, quiet living, and a friendly family atmosphere.
