    Description

About Imogen and the land: The Cottage is situated on an acre and a half of meadow, young woodland, ponds and garden polytunnel. It is also home to a listed megalithic site. My aim is to reinstate the vitality in land as it might have been 4,500 years ago when the megathlithic tomb was constructed.

I work in the helping professions and the surrounding land is used as a resource for clients. Retreats and group and community events also take place in the space.

While not listed as organic, I have worked in a collaborative way to co-create a beautiful biodiverse haven and do not the use chemicals on the land.

    Help required -
I am self taught and would welcome visitors with experience and initiative who can help support and tend the house and land .
Currently, I am seeking guests who have good DIY skills, and/or gardening skills i (competency with a chainsaw would be great but not essential). Initially I can offer up to 2 weeks at a time, but this could be extended if we find there is a good match.

For longer stays. This might suit individuals or couples who have an independent income and would like to experience life in a different context for a month or more in return for skilled help might find the place an ideal base for travel along the Wild Atlantic Way.

The Cottage is a very special place and offers much in terms of a creative and meditative space. Most of all, I would love to share the space with those who know the benefits of generosity and reciprocity, and feel called to come to the mystical and musical part of Ireland, and offer some of their time to support the land and the running of the house.

The Cottage is situated close to several scenic beaches with a distant view of the sea from the house. A short walk from the house, here is a shop, pub and a bus stop for a service that connects with Sligo town and Bundoran and Ballyshannon in County Donegal. Good surfing and sailing within a 20 minute drive.

The guest bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed and is tastefully decorated with an adjacent bathroom.
While sharing a large, well-equipped kitchen, we have separate living quarters upstairs so guests can enjoy the use of dining room and sitting room downstairs. We are vegetarians and generally prefer to have a meat and cigarette-free house. Healthy food ingredients are provided as part of the stay and we can share cooking of meals or guests can cook for themselves if preferred.

Please make your initial contact through the Workaway site letting me know what draws you to our place and what you might have to offer, particularly with regard to the skills that I mention are needed in the profile. Thank you.
    Warm regards, Imogen 🌸

The Cottage is situated in an area steeped in ancient history, including megalithic and iron age monuments. There are many local beaches within walking and cycling distance. A surfer's haven. 5 minutes walk from the local link bus which will take you to Sligo or Bundoran in co. Donegal. Many opportunities to listen to and play music. Many poets, writers and artists choose to come and live in the area. Sligo town is a 20 minute drive away and had many cafes, 2 theatres, an excellent art gallery and a small museum. There is also an armada museum in Grange (10 minutes on the bus from the house)

Gardening, general upkeep of house and land and taking a part in preparing meals. Any carpentry maintenance skills would be great, but what is essential is a generous spirit and a willingness to give - this inspires commensurate generosity in me!
