    --- Summer/Autumn ---

Looking for a Mature, Dog-Loving Woman to Join Our Little World in West Kerry
    (Only women 27+ please)

Hello! I’m Maria, a nursing student living in beautiful—but very rural—Inch, West Kerry. I share my cozy, thrifted farmhouse with my little dog Heidi, my cat Lilibeth (aka “Diabla”), and Theo our second sweet but eccentric cat and the new addition to the gang Yes, it’s a bit of a madhouse sometimes, but it’s our madhouse, and we love it.

I’m looking for a mature, responsible woman who’s independent, down-to-earth, and truly loves animals. This isn’t a holiday or a place to lock yourself away in a room—it’s more of a house-share with heart. If you’re someone who wants to be part of a quiet, kind, and slightly crazy little household, we might be a great fit.

    What I’m Offering:

A cozy, hygge-inspired farmhouse filled with plants, dried herbs, books, and peace.

    Your own double bedroom.

Wi-Fi, breakfast staples (milk, bread, cereals), and a shelf in the fridge and pantry.

A shared kitchen and (usually!) shared dinners—I love to cook for two.

Plenty of time to yourself and space to enjoy the calm of nature.

Friendly neighbors and occasional lifts from me, plus a community bus that goes to Dingle and Tralee four times a day.

    What I Need From You:

A genuine love for animals (especially dogs and cats).

Help feeding the pets in the morning and walking Heidi around 3 times a week.

Someone reliable to care for the animals while I’m at the hospital or college.

A person who enjoys their own company, values peace, and doesn’t mind rural living.

    What This Is Not:

    A vacation getaway.

A place for couples or people wanting to “escape” without contributing.

Suitable for anyone not used to solitude, countryside life, or muddy boots (yes—please bring proper waterproof hiking boots!)

About the Area & Lifestyle: Inch is absolutely stunning, surrounded by sea and mountains—but it’s real rural Ireland. In winter, it’s muddy, quiet, and not at all like Instagram. If you need constant stimulation or hate the rain, this probably isn’t the place for you.

That said, if you love reading, walking, good chats, nature, silence, dogs snoring next to the fire, and the joy of making a place feel like home—this might just be your dream spot.

A Bit About Me: I’m spiritual but not “New Agey.” I’m honest, grounded, and I love my solitude, pets, and garden. I collect herbs, dry flowers on the ceiling, and try to meditate daily. I believe in mutual respect, clear roles, and open communication. Every Workawayer who’s been here has become a friend, and I’d love to keep that vibe going.

If this all sounds like your kind of place, and you’re a mature woman (27+), feel free to reach out. But please only do so if you're truly comfortable with country life, dogs, cats, and being on your own sometimes.

Looking forward to hearing from the right soul to share our calm, quirky little world 💚
    —Maria, Heidi, Diabla and Theo🐾

This place is truly a safe haven. It’s calm, quiet, and surrounded by nature—rivers, sea, and mountains. If you’re someone who needs time away from the noise of the world, this could be the perfect place to just be. There’s a gentle, healing energy here that many people feel when they arrive.

I’m happy to offer a Tarot reading, a Reiki or acupuncture session, or even just a bit of aromatherapy—whatever might bring a little peace or clarity to your day.

Life here is peaceful but full of little adventures. I love music, books, art, and laughter—there’s plenty of that too. I'm very independent and respect others' space, so if you value solitude, you’ll feel at home.

I believe deeply in change and growth. Sometimes life sinks your ship, and you have to learn how to swim in the wreckage. But every challenge is also a chance to grow. I draw a lot from practices like Vipassana retreats, Loving-Kindness meditation, and the wisdom of Buddhism. And I’m still often surprised by the kindness people bring into my life.

  • Help

    Help

There’s very light housework involved—nothing too demanding. The garden does need a bit of attention now and then, but it’s a task I actually enjoy doing myself, so you won’t be expected to take that on.

The most important responsibility here is caring for the animals, especially making sure Heidi gets her daily walk. It’s really important to me that this happens consistently, and I’d prefer not to have to remind you—that’s awkward for both of us. I truly appreciate someone who can take initiative and understands that the pets are the heart of this home.

Altogether, your help would amount to no more than about 3 hours, 3 days a week.

As many of the past Workawayers have shared in their reviews, this is a place where you can really feel at home.

You’ll have a furnished double bedroom with your own TV and beautiful sea views. While I don’t provide regular meals, you’re very welcome to cook for yourself, and I’m always happy to share my meals if you ever need or feel like joining.

Ideally, I’m looking for someone without dietary restrictions, just to keep things simple in a shared kitchen.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There’s local transport available five times a day—a door-to-door service that connects you to Castlemaine, Tralee, Killarney, and Dingle. Inch Beach is just 9 km away, and Dingle is about 20 km. Kerry is absolutely stunning, so if you have your own car, that’s a big plus—it’ll give you even more freedom to explore.

I love hiking and spending time in the mountains, and Inch is also a fantastic spot for surfing. You’re welcome to join surf lessons with our lovely friend Tim if that’s something you’d enjoy!

I’m happy to give you a lift when needed, and I usually do my shopping in Dingle, so you’re always welcome to come along.
