    Description

Hello, my name is Joko and welcome to our family's house, which is located in the jungle in the Batu Kapal, North Sumatra, Indonesia. You will find our beautiful house a 50-minute walk or 15-minute motor bike ride from Bukit Lawang village on the peaceful Landak River overlooking Gungung Leuser National Park.
The surrounding is green, untouched and peaceful, which is perfect to experience the wild life, tranquillity, eco-homegrown food, swim in the clean river (probably still one of the rare one in Indonesia) and the real life of the people who live here.
Behind the house you can wake up with the view of orangutans, other monkeys , birds and other wild life. We started creating this place with my family. This is the land of my grandfather and it said it is very special place. Behind the house it’s a big cave in the shape of the boat, that is why the name is called Batu Kapal (stone boat), which you can also explore.
Its a relaxed perfect nature get away from a crowded stressed life . It gives you time to think, to take in and just enjoy the moments, fresh air, animals and nature. It is a beautiful place and I would like to keep it like that. That is why I'm looking for some help from people who care about the nature and environment.

You are welcome to be a part of this ;)

In your free time you can do some jungle trekking, exploring the cave behind us, swim in the river and just enjoy the jungle vibe. We can also teach you some Indonesian language and you can share your language with us. All the family is easy going and ready to learn also from you. Hospitality is number one in our list. We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise.
