A rustic stone house with blue doors and windows stands on a grassy yard. Potted plants, old windows, and large vases decorate the front.
A cozy, rustic bedroom with wooden floors, soft rugs, a bed, dresser, armchair by the window, plants, bookshelves, and mirrors, bathed in natural light.
A peaceful farm scene shows five brown sheep grazing in the foreground, two camels standing behind them, surrounded by trees, grass, and a pile of branches.
A black, shaggy dog sits outside a rustic stone house on a sunny day. Green plants, a blue sky, and fluffy clouds complete the scene.
A peaceful countryside scene at sunrise, with golden sunlight casting over green grass, blooming yellow flowers, bare trees, and a gentle mist in the distance.

    Description

I am Anthony and I have a small holding in the north of the Mayenne region, situated about 15 mins from the beautiful town of Mayenne. The house is in a very rural area although not isolated.
I have 2 lovely dogs (one is 55 kilos but a gentle giant) 5 cats although 2 are visitors and the rest stray that have adopted us and 2 donkeys. The house has a lovely calm feel it is warm and dry in winter, always toasty from the fireplaceand cool in summer as the house situation means there is always a cool breeze. It is an oasis of calm and an ideal environment to recharge your soul.

I am looking for workawayers to help with the daily life of the animals and the daily life of the house. There is lots to do outside of work here from canoeing locally (we have 2 single canoes) bike riding and visiting local towns or joining in local activities.

I think anyone who loves animals and a calm environment could not help but recharge here. I have lived and worked in France for over 25 years and have english and French speaking friends so the chance to exchange and learn. English is spoken in the house and with french friends children who use it as an opportunity to improve their English. French is spoken with friends and the local community so you would be free to benifit as you wish.

I am looking for workawayers easy to be around and those looking to just be part of the place and help where needed, No special skill set is needed just a reasonable level of fitness and an active way of life and enjoy being with animals. I am looking for workawayers who are happy to take care of the animals, hay for the donkeys, feed and spend a bit of time with the 2 dogs and the 3 cats + 2 other on short term keeping. this takes me about a hour max morning and late afternoon and can be the most enjoyable part of the day, there are small owls in the adjoining farm and they are very active and talkative in the afternoons. Apart from that some general help with the house hold chores as they arise .

    Accommodation

The accomodation will be a large bedroom on the first floor with a double bed and cupboards etc. The shower and toilet are used by the whole house and at the moment of writing are on the ground floor, by dec will be in the new part of the house on the first floor.

I love cooking and normally prepare something nice in the evening although if you want to cook something then no problems. Breakfast and lunchtime meals vary according to the weather, The idea is that nothing is a problem and common sence prevails. I am not vegan or vegitarian so if this is a problem to you then it may not suit you although i may be open to trying new things, but the dogs and cats are meat eating .

Dinner is always a full meal and breakfast and lunch are provided and flexible to suit the workawayer and the contents vary to suit the weather and season.
