    Description

Our place is nestled in the stunning mountains of Tarifa, in an area called Potrero Alto, in La Peña. Surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Alcornocales National Park, this is a truly special and privileged location where nature envelops you. It is the perfect retreat for those seeking peace, tranquillity, and a deeper connection with the natural world.

With expansive views and open skies, both day and night, stargazing here is simply mesmerising. Immersing yourself in nature in this environment is not only calming but profoundly enriching—it nourishes both the mind and soul.

This is an ongoing living project, evolving step by step to create a unique space for those who wish to explore a simpler, more sustainable, and fulfilling way of life.

NOTE: Due to our location, volunteers/workers must have their own means of transport. From November to May (low season), we can only accommodate two people or a couple, as we offer just one dome with a double bed. During high season, we have additional tent options and can accommodate individuals as well.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Travellers who join us will experience a unique cultural exchange, immersing themselves in a simple, sustainable way of life while connecting with nature. They will have the opportunity to learn practical skills such as permaculture gardening, landscaping, and animal care, including looking after horses.

Beyond the physical tasks, they will gain insight into eco-friendly and self-sufficient living, understanding how to work in harmony with nature by using solar energy, fresh mountain water, and sustainable building techniques.

Living and working together fosters a sense of community, where travellers can exchange stories, ideas, and skills with like-minded people from different backgrounds. They will also experience the relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere of Tarifa, with its mix of local traditions, international influences, and stunning natural surroundings.

Additionally, volunteers are welcome to join the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu group classes I run at Eco Spirit (Roger Gracie Academy Tarifa) free of charge. It’s a great opportunity to learn self-defence, improve fitness, and experience the discipline and philosophy of BJJ in a friendly and supportive environment.

This experience is perfect for those looking to step away from the fast-paced modern world, develop new skills, and embrace a simpler, more mindful way of living.

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for enthusiastic people to join us and lend a hand. At the moment, I am working mostly on my own, so any help is greatly appreciated. We need support with animal care, and gardening. Every day involves a variety of tasks, including working with the land, planting, clearing the area, and cutting back bushes.

I also need help with my horses—feeding them and ensuring they are well cared for. As this is an ongoing living project, we are constantly creating and developing new things on the land.

If you are interested, please feel free to contact us. We would love to get to know you better and share more details about the experience.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Accommodation is simple, in one of our geodesic domes. We rely solely on solar electricity and fresh mountain water, with hot showers available. The domes are well-insulated and equipped with a gas heater for the colder months.

We strive to be as self-sustainable as possible and encourage volunteers with their own campervans. However, during the off-season, we can provide accommodation in one of the domes.
