    Description

We are a Spanish family, Erica (38) and Carlos (41), with two children (7 and 4 years old) and our dog Duna (a 2-year-old Pyrenean Mastiff who lives in the garden). We live in Vinaròs, a lovely town between Barcelona and Valencia. Vinaròs is a small city located on the north coast of the Valencian Community, where you can find beautiful beaches, an official language school, free conversation groups at the adult education school, several gyms, a hospital, a swimming pool, and many other things to do. The weather is great all year round. Our house is a five-minute walk from the beach and a ten-minute walk from the city centre.

We would like to share our home with an English-speaking person to speak and play with our children, helping them learn through play in a natural way. Of course, we can also practice Spanish together.

We are doctors and work 8 hours a day (from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). We love travelling around the world, animals, and nature. We enjoy hiking in the mountains and playing with our children.

We are foodies and enjoy cooking. We usually eat healthy, real food at home following a Mediterranean diet (vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, legumes, rice, pasta, etc.), although sometimes we also bake delicious cakes and chocolates (most of the time without sugar!).

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for someone to stay with us for a minimum of two months (although we can consider shorter stays) to help with childcare and to speak English with the children at home. We are looking for someone who sings songs, reads stories, plays, and of course loves children. An easy-going, energetic, outgoing, happy and creative person. Previous experience with children is required.

We would like someone who can help with light household tasks (laundry, dishwasher) and who enjoys living together and talking, like another member of the family. The schedule would be 4 hours a day, 4–5 days a week (we have a cleaner who comes once a week). We are flexible and understand that you may need free days to visit other areas.

We want you to feel like a member of our family at home.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

At home, you will have your own room, three bathrooms, a swimming pool and a garden (where we grow some vegetables). The beach is a five-minute walk from the house, and there is also a bike available for you. We have Wi-Fi. Castellón is 45 minutes away, Valencia is an hour and a half away, and Barcelona is two hours away by car.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are beautiful beaches, an official language school to learn languages, free conversation groups at the adult education school, several gyms, a hospital, and a swimming pool. You can find plenty of things to do here. The weather is great all year round. There is a train station and a bus station in the town.

We can show you our area, as there are some of the most beautiful villages in Spain near Vinaròs, such as Peñíscola, Morella, and Vilafamés, as well as natural parks like Serra d’Irta, the Ebro Delta, Benifassà, Montanejos and Sierra de Espadán. We are close to Valencia and Barcelona, easily reachable by bus or train, and there are good transport connections to Castellón, where the nearest airport is located, with flights to cities such as Madrid and Bilbao within Spain, and to destinations in Portugal, Italy, Germany, England, and other European countries.
