Description
I'm a very fit 57 yr old. I have many skills and can turn my hand to most things. I qualified as a landscape gardener in the 90s and spent ten years living and working in London. I have a reasonable knowledge of soft landscaping, but have also gained skills working in property maintenance - carpentry, plumbing, electrics etc. In 2019, I built an extension to my flat. I had help with the structural work, but did most of the second fix work myself. In my youth, I trained as a vehicle mechanic and still maintain all my own vehicles. I have much experience, particularly with French cars, having owned many of these vehicles.
I have a dry sense of humour, am curious about anything and everything and have many interests, including travel, writing, music, film. I am also an avid BBC R4 and 6Music listener. I enjoy anything mechanical, gardening, cooking, hiking, camping, getting out in nature and lots more! I eat everything and love to make good food. In the last decade, I've ridden a motorbike around Thailand and Vietnam, walked and cycled the Camino in Spain, spent three months exploring Japan and summers travelling round Europe in my van. I work at the Olympics and was recently at the winter games in Milan. I love all animals, but have a real soft spot for cats, dogs, ducks and goats. A few years ago, I looked after a flock of sheep in Galicia

I enjoy nature and animals. I would like to find a workaway that involves looking after animals, or helping animals in some way. I would describe myself as an interesting introvert, who loves to let rip... sometimes! I prefer quieter households with fewer people. Also interested in ecobuilds and ecoliving - would love to learn more about this.

Margaret and Stuart are great hosts. Easy going and relaxed, they really make you feel at home. Margaret is a great cook and there is always plenty of food. They have an eclectic mix of friends and always include you in their social activities. They are both kind, empathic, interesting and amusing - a credit to workaway!

Mauro is a grafter, he took my garden from an overgrown mess to a tidy well kept garden, he dug over my veggie patch and planted many seeds, all we need now is some sun to get it all going.
He took Max my dog on many a walk.
He was only with me for a week but he achieved a lot in that week.
