Description
Come and learn about organic farming! Our farm is located in the Fraser Canyon in a beautiful, natural, and off grid setting. We are surrounded by wilderness and mountains. Our farm is a very unique place.
My parents have been farming organically since 1985.
We are a family run farm working together to grow quality produce for the Vancouver Farmers Markets.
We are certified organic with NOOA.
We use cover crops, organic fertilizer, rock dust, and worm castings for soil enhancement. We also use mostly open pollinated, organic seed.
We accept people from April to mid October. It is well worth coming to see our beautiful farm and spending time working with us.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
We are looking for people who are interested in learning about organic farming. You would be doing a variety of different jobs depending on the time of year. Greenhouse preparation, transplanting plants, digging beds, planting, weeding, watering, thinning, pruning trees, harvesting fruits and vegetables. We prefer that workways come for a minimum stay of 3 weeks as we live far away for picking people up.

We have individual cabins for workers with minimal power for lights and charging. WiFi is available. We have an outdoor shower, outhouses and a washing machine. Cooking facilities are available in each cabin. We provide you with food to cook your own meals.
One of our accommodations is a rustic truck house. Many people have talked about how they love staying in the truck house named Jake because of its rustic and unique charm. It has what you need, a stove for cooking, a sink inside and outside, a couch for relaxing and many books available for reading, a bed that overlooks one of our many apple orchards.
Our other two accommodations also have everything you need a stove for cooking, food provided, a bed to sleep in, tables, an outside area for relaxing and beautiful views of our orchards and the surrounding mountains. What else ...
There are many wonderful things to do on your day off or after work. Go for a hike in the beautiful mountains that surround us or take a walk down to the Fraser River. We have a pond to cool off in on hot days, we also have bikes you can borrow to go for a ride. Borrow the many books from our library and relax in the wilderness.

He worked well with others and seemed to enjoy the many conversations we all had in the field.
It took him a bit of time to get use to the work but then he seemed to find his groove. Anthony helped us with a lot of weeding and thinning apples. He seemed to enjoy thinning apples the most.

I learned a lot about how to grow plants properly. During the month I did planting, weeding, thinning and pruning. The work out in the fields is pleasant because you're always part of a team and conversation is possible.
