  Description

  Hi Workawayers ! We are a nice, open-minded and friendly art and culture academy. We love meeting and hosting people from around the world to come discovering this very special place.
  We are a friendly team of people from Italy, Germany, France and much more ! You will have multiple opportunities to practice new languages and make new friends.
  We are located in Querceto (PI), a tiny village of 40 inhabitants with a lot of history : according to the legend, templar knights were living in this village !
  Every summer, from June to September-October, academy brings some more life to Querceto by organising artistic masterclasses, concerts, festivals, shows of classical music, tango, jazz and lyric singing, Gi-Qonq, painting, sculpting, photography... Every week is dedicated to a different art theme and the artists-teachers and students come from all over Europe and beyond !
  
  We are a community-based place, so it is a very special place to meet extraordinary and kind people : from argentinian bandoneonist to local people and organic farmers. Everyone is very kind, simple and warm. We have the sun in the sky and in our heart.

  Ciao a tutti ! Siamo un'accademia d'arte e cultura simpatica, aperta e amichevole. Ci piace incontrare e ospitare persone provenienti da tutto il mondo per venire a scoprire questo luogo così speciale.
  Siamo un team amichevole di persone provenienti da Italia, Germania, Francia e molto altro ancora! Avrete molteplici opportunità di praticare nuove lingue e di fare nuove amicizie.
  Ci troviamo a Querceto (PI), un piccolo paese di 40 abitanti con un sacco di storia: secondo la leggenda, i cavalieri templari vivevano in questo paese!
  Ogni estate, da giugno a settembre-ottobre, l'Accademia porta un po' di vita in più a Querceto organizzando masterclass artistiche, concerti, festival, spettacoli di musica classica, tango, jazz e canto lirico, Gi-Qonq, pittura, scultura, fotografia... Ogni settimana è dedicata a un tema artistico diverso e gli artisti e gli studenti provengono da tutta Europa e non solo!
  
  Siamo un luogo comunitario, quindi è un posto molto speciale per incontrare persone straordinarie e gentili: dal bandoneonista argentino alla gente del posto e agli agricoltori biologici. Tutti sono molto gentili, semplici e calorosi. Abbiamo il sole nel cielo e nel cuore.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  Querceto is a great place if you want to meet people from all over Europe, listen to their stories while you are eating a delicious Tuscan lunch prepared by the kindest cook : Rebecca ! She is an excellent cook and you will probably spend hours talking with her in the kitchen.
  We are a community-based place, so it is very frequent that the team, our guests or neighbours from the village offer you to go visiting a village with them or go to the beach. Even if you do not have the car, you always find ways to go exploring the surroundings !
  The artists-teachers are also very opened and happy to make you discovering their art ! You can try to play piano, to dance tango or to sing.
  And of course you are invited to attend all our events, some are taking place in Querceto, and some in other stunning venues.
  The vilage in itself is located into stunning landscapes, so if you also need some time in the nature, you have plenty of hikes to explore.

  Help

  We would like people to help with the general organisation of the masterclasses ans artistic events. All our events are non-profit-making. We are really open to discuss with you which kind of help you would prefer doing. We want to you to have a good time and we pay attention that you are having a good balance between helping time and personal/free time.
  
  Here are the main help we need help for :
  - welcoming and helping throughout their stay the masterclass students and the artists
  - helping with cleaning the flats
  - helping during the events (festival, concerts, shows)

  Vorremmo che le persone aiutassero nell'organizzazione generale delle masterclass e degli eventi artistici. Tutti i nostri eventi sono senza scopo di lucro. Siamo aperti a discutere con voi quale tipo di aiuto preferireste fare. Vogliamo che vi divertiate e siamo attenti a trovare un buon equilibrio tra il tempo dedicato all'aiuto e il tempo libero/personale.
  
  Ecco i principali aiuti di cui abbiamo bisogno:
  - accogliere e aiutare per tutta la durata del loro soggiorno gli studenti della masterclass e gli artisti
  - aiutare nella pulizia degli appartamenti
  - aiutare durante gli eventi (festival, concerti, spettacoli)

Non è un problema per noi ospitare una persona che non parla italiano, ma che è disposta a imparare! **** We love to host people from around the world and learn, from their culture, personal stories and food. It is not a problem for us to host a person who doesn't speak italian, but who is willing to learn !

  Accommodation

  We host our guests in private or double rooms in shared flats. According to the availability of the flats, you could be hosted in a private flat.
  Both private and shared flats include : bathroom, fully functioning kitchen, living room...
  Note that the flats are typical from this region of Tuscany and are rustic.
  The village is full of staircases. Unfortunately, we cannot welcome physically disabled people.

  Ospitiamo i nostri ospiti in camere private o doppie in appartamenti condivisi. In base alla disponibilità degli appartamenti, potreste essere ospitati in un appartamento privato.
  Sia gli appartamenti privati che quelli condivisi comprendono: bagno, cucina completamente funzionante, soggiorno...
  Si noti che gli appartamenti sono tipici di questa regione della Toscana e sono rustici.
  Il villaggio è pieno di scale. Purtroppo non possiamo accogliere persone con disabilità fisiche.
