    Description

The Museum serves to educate the public on the dangers of landmines, through the story of Aki, a child soldier who became a CNN Hero. The museum believes that landmine use will only begin when we all demand its cessation. That can only be done through determination and education.

At the landmine museum we have a team of 9 locally paid staff currently working with us employed in museum staffing, maintenance, and education.

The local area is wonderful and peaceful with Siem Reap city close-by. In the city there is the famous ancient city of Angkor Wat as well as many bars and cool places to hang out.

Siem Reap airport is internationally accessible and getting to the workaway will be easy with a nice Tuktuk or Car ride.

If you want to help me achieve my goal of making Cambodia mine-free then please help me out!

    We need people for:
-Marketing (Tech affinity and Social Media skills)
-Tour Guide (English and any other language)

All volunteers get free accomodation and food.

The minimum stay for this Workaway is 1-week.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We will teach you all about Cambodian culture and maybe even teach you a bit of Khmer language. We enjoy learning from volunteers since they bring diverse skills and backgrounds to the table. On a personal note, Mr. Aki was not able to go to school in his youth so really enjoys learning English and tech skills.

We have shared dinners volunteers can attend if they want where we sit together and eat.

You will learn a lot about my museum, Cambodia, and landmines!

A dirt and gravel path leads through tall trees, lush vegetation, and rustic wooden fences towards houses. Signs warning of a minefield are visible along the route.
