  Description

  We are a family of five person. We have three children, Olivia, 9, Marcos, 7, and Telma. We live in a large house in the countryside 3 km from Prado del Rey, a town of about 5,600 inhabitants. located in the Sierra de Cádiz. Just 30 km from Grazalema (about 45 minutes) an hour from Ronda and any beach in Cádiz.
  
  Our farm is ecological and we have olive trees, fruit trees and an orchard. We try to take advantage of the resources that the field offers us, although this is not our main activity. I, José Miguel, dedicate myself to teaching, I am a primary school teacher and my wife, Laura, is a health worker (a dentist in public health). In the time that we have left, we like to enjoy the house and the environment in which we live. We combine this with the harvesting of the fruits that the farm offers us depending on the time of year and the different tasks that must be carried out. Among others, feeding the animals, plowing, pruning, burning, maintaining the facilities ... Around the month of November, we collect the olives with which we make our own oil. In autumn we also collect our grapes, almonds and pomegranates for our own consumption. Later, the oranges begin ... We put a summer garden in which we plant tomatoes, aubergines, peppers, ... And we are currently preparing the winter garden. In it we will plant crucifers such as cabbage, cauliflower, red cabbage, broccoli ... The animals to be fed are chickens, sheep and a donkey. At the domestic level we have two cats. The house is quite large, it has two swimming pools and we also have a separate and new apartment in which the worksawayers would stay. It has all the comforts: internet, tv, ac, fireplace, kitchen, fridge, bathroom, ...
  
  
  Somos una familia de cinco persona. Tenemos tres hijos, Olivia de 9 años, Marcos de 7 y Telma.
  Vivimos en una casa grande en el campo a 3 km de Prado del Rey, localidad de unos 5600 hab. situada en la Sierra de Cádiz. A tan solo 30 km de Grazalema (unos 45 minutos) a una hora de Ronda y de cualquier playa de Cádiz.
  
  Nuestra finca es ecológica y tenemos olivos, árboles frutales y huerto. Intentamos aprovechar los recursos que nos ofrece el campo aunque esta no es nuestra actividad principal. Yo, José Miguel me dedico a la enseñanza, soy profesor de educación primaria y mi mujer, Laura, es sanitaria (dentista en la sanidad pública).
  
  En el tiempo que nos queda, nos gusta disfrutar de la casa y del entorno en el que vivimos. Esto lo compaginamos con la recolección de los frutos que nos ofrece la finca en función de la época del año y las diferentes tareas que hay que ir realizando. Entre otras, alimentar a los animales, arar, podar, quemar, mantener las instalaciones...
  
  Alrededor del mes de noviembre, recolectamos las aceitunas con las que elaboramos nuestro propio aceite. En otoño también recolectamos para el consumo propio nuestras uvas, almendras y granadas. Más tarde, comienzan las naranjas...
  
  Ponemos un huerto para verano en el que sembramos tomates, berenjenas, pimientos,... Y actualmente estamos preparando el huerto de invierno. En él sembraremos crucíferas como col, coliflor, lombarda, brócoli...
  
  Los animales a los que hay que alimentar son las gallinas, ovejas y un burro. A nivel doméstico tenemos dos gatos.
  
  La casa es bastante grande, tiene dos piscinas y además tenemos un apartamento independiente y nuevo en el que se alojarían los worksawayers. Dispone de todas las comodidades: internet, tv, ac, chimenea, cocina, nevera, baño,...

  Help

  We would like help with the tasks described below. All of them are easy tasks that do not require specific knowledge and are not especially hard. -
  
  Caring for animals. Easy task that takes up very little time but very grateful. - Maintenance of facilities such as painting wooden fences, iron ... - Pruning trees. - Collect the olives if the season coincides. - Collect the rest of the fruits such as almonds, oranges ... - Do some simple task of building a stone wall (as an assistant). - Language exchange. - If workawayers like children you can spend some time interacting with them.
  
  
  Nos gustaría recibir ayuda en las tareas que a continuación describimos. Todas ellas son tareas fáciles que no requieren de conocimientos específicos y no son especialmente duras.
  
  - El cuidado de los animales. Tarea fácil que ocupa muy poco tiempo pero muy agradecida.
  - Mantenimiento de instalaciones como pintar vallas de madera, hierro...
  - Podar árboles.
  - Recolectar las aceitunas si se coincide en la temporada.
  - Recolectar el resto de los frutos como almendras, naranjas...
  - Hacer alguna tarea sencilla de construcción de muro de piedra (como ayudante).
  - Intercambio de idioma.
  - Si los worksawayers le gustan los niños pueden dedicar algún tiempo a interactuar con ellos.

  El intercambio de idiomas no es nuestro interés principal pero estaremos encantados de hacerlo si a los workawayers les interesa.

  Accommodation

  As I said, the apartment for the workawayers is attached to our house but has a separate entrance and patio. It is a space of about 32m2 plus a loft. It is newly built and has all the comforts. From internet, tv, AC, fireplace, sofa, kitchen with utensils, refrigerator, bathroom, two 135cm beds (one in the loft and one in the main space). In this way, in addition to enjoying all the comforts, we can allow ourselves to share a part of the time in the accomplishment of certain tasks, some meals, some visits (optional) ... But also to have independence at the time of rest, in the free time ... Since we are new to this experience, initially we would like to find a balance between the time we share and the independence of both parties. That is why we would make sure that the necessary food (maintenance), as well as other supplies, was not missing in the workawayers' apartment. As I said, this does not imply that we can and should share other foods and situations to relate and interact.
  
  Como decía, el apartamento para los workawayers está adosado a nuestra casa pero cuenta con entrada y patio independiente. Es un espacio de unos 32m2 más un altillo. Es de nueva construcción y cuenta con todas las comodidades. Desde internet, tv, AC, chimenea, sofá, cocina con los útiles, nevera, baño, dos camas de 135cm (una en el altillo y otra en el espacio principal).
  De esta manera, además de disfrutar de todas las comodidades, nos podemos permitir compartir una parte del tiempo en la realización de ciertas tareas, algunas comidas, algunas visitas (opcional)... Pero también tener independencia a la hora del descanso, en el tiempo libre...
  Dado que somos nuevos en esta experiencia, en un principio nos gustaría buscar un equilibrio entre el tiempo que compartimos y la independencia de ambas partes. Es por eso que nos haríamos cargo de que no faltara la comida necesaria (manutención), así como de otros suministros, en el apartamento del workawayers. Como decía, ello no implica que podamos y debamos compartir otras comidas y situaciones para relacionarnos e interactuar.

  What else ...

  As I said, the house is only 3km from Prado del Rey but on a day-to-day basis, we use the car to get around. The workawayers, would not have problems to go to the town because we go up several times a day both in the morning and in the afternoon. If you want to go up, although you could do it on foot or by bike, you can always take advantage of one of our trips. If you want to move to more distant towns or cities, you would have to use public transport. And in some cases, the combinations are not so simple. As we already mentioned, we are just one hour from Cádiz, Sanlucar de Barrameda, El Puerto de Santa María, Seville, Ronda, Setenil de las Bodegas ... Less than an hour from all the towns of the Sierra de Cádiz (Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra, Ubrique…) as well as Jerez de la Frontera, Arcos de la Frontera… In my case, I am fond of trailrunning and I know the mountains to be able to make recommendations. Likewise, we know the different towns and cities that surround us.
  
  Como decía, la casa se encuentra tan solo a 3km de Prado del Rey pero en el día a día, usamos el coche para desplazarnos. El workawayers, no tendría problemas para ir al pueblo pues subimos varias veces al día tanto de mañana como de tarde. Si desea subir, aunque podría hacerlo andando o en bici, siempre puede aprovechar una de nuestros desplazamientos.
  
  Si lo que quiere es desplazarse a localidades o ciudades más lejanas, tendría que usar el transporte público. Y en algunos casos, las combinaciones no son tan sencillas.
  Como ya comentamos, estamos a tan solo una hora de Cádiz, Sanlucar de Barrameda, El Puerto de Santa María, Sevilla, Ronda, Setenil de las Bodegas…
  A menos de una hora de todos los pueblos de la Sierra de Cádiz (Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra, Ubrique…) así como a Jerez de la Frontera, Arcos de la Frontera…
  
  En mi caso, soy aficionado al trailrunning y conozco la sierra como para poder hacer recomendaciones. Igualmente, conocemos las diferentes localidades y ciudades que nos rodean.
