We are an organic homestead farm in the Terra Alta of Catalunya. We have olive and almond trees and we live 100% off grid. We are a private homestead and do not sell anything to the public. We are near Gandesa, in the middle of the countriside. We are a couple in their sixties with a background in law and neuroscience, enjoying nature and the peace of rural life after a life working for big corporations and having created several companies. We are both sailors, Carlota is a yacht skipper and Marc is a yacht captain.

 - Cultural exchange and learning opportunities- We like to share breakfast and lunch with our volunteers and talk about local and world issues. We are vegetarian.
We like to share our travel experiences and we like to hear about you. We have a lot of entrepreneurial experience and have travelled a lot and we are open to hear about you.
We prepare a “clotxa” for you, a Terra Alta typical hearty breakfast. We also ask our volunteers to prepare a typical dish of their countries of origin or adoption.
The horrific “batalla del Ebre”, a key episode of the Spanish coup d’etat, took place nearby. We like to take our volunteers to the International Brigades museum in a village nearby so they can understand why and how many people from all over the world came to fight fascism during the Spanish fascist uprising.
 - Help- We will help volunteers learn about the tasks and provide them with very good accommodation. We would appreciate support in taking care of our farm, the trees, our garden, some rebuilding and general maintenance tasks. You will be expected to help 5 hours a day five days a week. Looking for reliable, self motivated, very physically fit and strong volunteers.
Please no smokers. Only vegetarians. No alcohol and no drugs.
 - Languages spoken- Catalan: Fluent
 English: Fluent
 - Accommodation- A fully independent small off-grid cottage in the middle of the almond groves. We cook and share breakfast and lunch and provide food for the rest of the meals.
 - What else ...- Best way to get to Gandesa, Tarragona, is by bus from Barcelona or Zaragoza with the Hife.es bus company.
We have hosted volunteers from Germany, New Zealand, Canada, the USA, Mexico… you are all welcome.
Ours is a remote rural area, so do not expect to find nightlife or crowds nearby. Nature, solitude, meditation, reading, music, nature, wind, birds, foxes, medicinal plants and plenty more is what you can do and what you will find with us. We provide a bike so you can move around and go shopping to the village if you need to.
All are welcome but we prioritize to host people with several prior volunteer experiences and who are very fit. If you have no prior volunteering experiences, please tell us why you think you would like to contribute your work to our farm.
