    Description

We are a haven of hospitality located on the shores of Lake Atitlan. We are seeking passionate volunteers with experience in the hospitality sector.
This is more than just a place to stay—it's a warm and welcoming space where guests from around the globe can find comfort and connection.

Located on Lake Atitlan, our is part of the larger community of San Marcos. San Marcos is a peaceful yet vibrant town where you will find a mix of travelers staying amongst a thriving Indigenous Mayan community. It is important for us that our place co-exists with respect for the town’s local customs and people, while also being a fun and interactive destination for travelers to stay.
This is not a party place, but we do organize occasional events with music, fun evening programs such as karaoke, trivia nights, or salsa classes, which work exchangers can enjoy both by participating and/or supporting during shifts. We also have daily yoga classes, and paddle boards to take out on the lake (both massively discounted for work-exchangers) and an aerial rig that can be used for practice if people are trained, and sometimes hosts classes that can also be joined by work exchangers (at variable cost).

We are looking for people with backgrounds in hospitality management, customer service, or any related field. Whether you're adept at front desk operations, have a knack for creating welcoming spaces, or excel in creating events, your contributions will be valuable to our team. We also encourage applications from carpenters, yoga teachers, artists of all kinds, aerialists, and really anyone with a diverse or interesting skill set. Tell us about yourself, and we will see what projects we have going on and how we might be in synergy together!!

As a volunteer here, you will have the opportunity to:
    - Meet and work with people from various countries and backgrounds
    - Meet and work with local people from our community
    - Improve skills in the field of hospitality
    - Improve your Spanish
    - Implement your ideas and creations - we are always open for input and improvements!
    - Use your interests and skills to create programs and activities for guests and volunteers.

In return for your dedication and hard work, we offer:
    - Accommodation, normally in a shared room, usually private rooms can be provided for couples 😁
    - Two vegetarian meals a day (breakfast plus one other meal) from our restaurant, even on your non-working days.
    - One free drink during your shift, and 25% volunteer discount on the rest of the menu
    - Access to yoga classes at our hostel (guests have a priority, and if there is available space, volunteers are welcome to join for 10Q)
    - Use of hostels paddle boards (again, guests have a priority, and if there is availability, volunteers are welcome to use them for 10Q)
    - Our hostel has space for many volunteers, so you will never be alone, and you will have a chance to form unforgettable friendships and maybe find new travel buddies!
    - And last but not least, a chance to live and work in one of Guatemala’s most stunning locations, with direct access to the lake and the view of volcanos.

If you believe this opportunity is for you, send us a message and we can talk more!
