  • Description

We are a Australian couple who have set out to create our dream of starting an eco friendly healthy mind, body and soul vegan cafe.

Our property is located on the white sandy, coconut tree lined beach of M'pai bay on the island of Koh Rong Samloem which was once a small fishing village 17kms south of mainland Cambodia.

Eight years ago the island opened its beauty to tourism and has made a serene change to become a quiet tropical get away where people from around the world come to relax, scuba dive, take quiet walks along the white sandy beach, enjoy yoga classes, hikes and more.

After selling everything in Australia and booking a one way ticket to India we decided that the over population and pollution was to much and that what we always wanted and dreamed of was to settle down on a tropical jungle island and create something in which we ourselves would want to give back to the world.

Our dream would be to provide what we both held true but was always so hard to find whilst travelling, a healthy vegan meal in which we didn't need to check that there might be something we don't eat in it.

Cooking for and feeding many new friends and even the poor we have decided that its time we settle in one tropical place and bring what we love to the world that travels past our sandy doorstep.

We are seeking experienced volunteers in all aspects of construction and trade ranging from brick layers to carpenters, plumbers and electricians and one person who has knowledge in eco friendly ways to join us in completing our double story beach front property.

While becoming friends and even being accepted into the families of the local Khmer we are hoping that our volunteers might even pass on some knowledge on building to the locals.

Since the island is still new to the western world many of the locals have not been taught or trained in much of the work that they do. Thus providing poor plumbing, concreting and labor to themselves and others.

While providing this to the Khmer; many of the eastern ways of life will also be exchanged in return. And you might even be invited to some of the local family parties

  • Help

We are seeking 10 volunteer builders and laborers ranging from plumbers to carpenters, electricians and brick layers.

We will be using local Khmer to ease some of the load of having to do the hard moving and labor work.

We are wanting qualified and experienced volunteers in building and labor only, who are seeking that tropical paradise volunteering holiday.

    What else ...

When not helping our volunteers are able to do many things on the island ranging from scuba diving and snorkelling to hikes and climbing. At night the beach is lit up by glowing plankton and many walks and swims through the clear water is advised for the surreal beauty and experience.

There is a school with only one western teacher in 5 mins walk from the property and the kids always love to see a new face and learn new things while showing you how they can all climb and not fall off, And if your lucky they might even invite you to go fishing off the pier.

Being an island there are no cars or transport other than long boats around the island with a speed ferry and slow boat leaving twice a day to and from mainland.
