    Description

Our School is located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The vision of our school is to help the students grow both in gaining a high level of English and in life skill. Moreover, we educate them about virtues, social awareness, environment, leadership and also strive to develop the inner moral quality which is within us.

However, the school is looking for more volunteers to join us and to have an impact on Cambodian students. The volunteers can share about experience, culture, teaching English, workshop and so on. The students here are very friendly and adorable, and they also like to communicate with the foreigners as well. Each volunteer will be required to teach a maximum of 6 hours per day from Monday to Friday.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

The volunteers will enjoy so much in Cambodia. You will know new things such as culture, the way of living, and new places in Cambodia. There are many beautiful places in Phnom Penh, which is the capital city in Cambodia. On the weekend, you might go sightseeing at the river side which is very fresh and more people like to visit there in the evening and also in front of the Royal Palace and other wonderful places in the city. Furthermore, some students will invite you to their home to have meals with their family or they might invite you to eat out on the weekend as well.

Moreover, you will gain your experience, and there are many new things to learn from everybody and surely we can learn from each other. We all can share what we know or have such as experiences, skills, beliefs, and so on. We love each other as one family. We laugh, we create the souvenirs and beautiful memories with the people in Cambodia.

    EXPLORING:
During a volunteer's free time and on the weekends, Phnom Penh is a lovely city to explore...
Night Market and Central Market where many foreigners and local people go shopping. More information can be found by googling 'things to do or places to visit in Phnom Penh. There are 2 bicycles in the school so you can use them to explore around on the weekend.

    MORE INFO:
Please read our wonderful feedback to see what other volunteers thought of their time at the school.

    TIME COMMITMENT
It's required for volunteers to commit to stay with us for at least a month or more. Once you arrive here, you might apply for a tourist visa but you can apply for a business visa if you wish to stay longer. If you stay for 3 months or longer, then we will cover the cost of extending your visa.

    VOLUNTEER ROLE:
Volunteering roles include teaching English, and supporting roles to help in other ways, such as updating the website/social media profiles or helping with administration. (From time to time volunteers can also help with improving the school by gardening or decorating, etc).

    TEACHING ENGLISH:
KIDS: No teaching experience is required, just a good standard of English and enthusiasm to help the kids. You have to follow the school curriculum. Lessons include playing educational games, role-playing, doing sports, singing songs, drawing simple pictures, taking part in social and cultural activities, and any other ideas you have or add on. There are books and materials available to follow from the school. The local teacher will be with you to assist and accompany in class in order to teach the kids cooperatively and more effectively .

ADULTS: The volunteers can teach the students English and help them practice. There is a textbook for you to follow, but you also can help with:
    - Correcting the students' pronunciation
    - Teaching English videos with the subtitles
    - Reading skills
    - Public speaking
    - The volunteers can guide them to discuss, consult, debate, and share ideas with each other.

    What else ...

As a volunteer, your free time is spent on your own. There are resorts nearby and you can get to the swimming pool for $3. We are located 10 kilometers from Phnom Penh center. it's accessible by local tuk-tuk or motor-taxi for about $5 one way. Phnom Penh has good sightseeing attractions, great food and a lively nightlife. This is more than a job; it's an experience. We suggest you do your research on Cambodia - it has a rich cultural heritage and the people are friendly and welcoming. We hope that you will come and join us in order to make a difference and make the lives of others better.
