Description
Hello! We are Wouter (32), Heidi (32), Juppie (2), and Rooney (.75) and we are in the process of transforming an overgrown old homestead into a bio diverse sustainable organic permaculture paradise. Our interest is in sustainable living. This means that we take consideration for the types of plants and animals we apply to the land with the goal of having a balanced and diverse sets of plants and animals for food production.
Currently we are rebuilding the organic matter in our sandy soil with the help of our goats and chickens. This spring/summer we begin phase one of our vegetable gardens and food forest. This means we will be busy prepping our garden sites and orchards.
We take a holistic approach to how we manage our land and animals and each other. Our dedication to continued learning and understanding of how our ecosystems work and what role it plays on the larger environment is the foundation for our community, homestead and garden.
We also have opportunities for child care and house hold management.

There is so much to do in Squamish. We are situated between the Cheekye and the Cheakamus rivers which are both great to explore, fish or take a dip. We are two km from Alice lake provincial park where there are countless trails for hiking and biking and we are 15 km from the ocean where canoe and kayak rentals are readily available.

They are very warmly people and I loved to spend time with the kids. They are so cute and have a lot of fun in their mind.
The rainforest and the river next to their property is beautiful and worth a walk!
But you have to keep in mind that there is nothing else around. The next bus stop… read more
I had a great time working on the field, preparing the garden beds for the next growing season. Feeding the chickens and goats was also part of my tasks.
Also, playing with the kids was so much fun :)

Three week stay in April / May with them was great fun and the work was very varied.
Me and one more person Heidi and Wouter were hosting then, mainly had to looked after the goats, which meant that they needed a fence, but also that they could be taken out to eat on the meadows around.
We were also… read more
