    Description

Hi there! I live in a lovely modest home amongst the trees between Brisbane and Ipswich, with my dog. I have 3 adult kids have all left home but come and go from time to time. We often have Sunday meals together and we would love our workaway guests to join us. There are lots of birds and wildlife, bushland and kangaroos and wallabies around my neighbourhood. I have an independent granny flat under my house with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and living room. There is also an outside area, and a shared laundry.

I live on 800m2 of land, which needs lots of tidying up, weeding and trimming on an ongoing basis. I am also planning on doing some gradual planting and landscaping. I work 4 to 5 days per week and there are always lots of jobs to do at my house, particularly gardening, laundry, and walking and playing with the dog.

I work in the city from Monday to Wednesday and work at home on Thursdays. I enjoy swimming and going to the gym.

I have a very friendly pug poodle pooch called Shredder who absolutely loves company and he will be pleased to spend time with guests.

The house is 25 km from Brisbane and about 20km from Ipswich. There is a train line 5 minutes away and public transport can get you to the train line. Trains to the city are only 50c each way. You will need to have your own transport to do this workaway comfortably so you can get out and about.

I would let guests make their own plans about looking around Brisbane and the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and seeing the sights.

My backgournd is a mix of Malaysian Chinese and English but I am really an Aussie, born and bred here. I only speak English and of course happy to practice English with you.

You will meet my 3 adult children and of course my neighbours. We often have Sunday barbecues together. This work away will be suitable if you are fairly independent and happy to get around by yourself and see the sights during the week.
I look forward to learning about other cultures, and sharing the Aussie bush with you around my house.

    Help

My front and back yards are currently a bit of a jungle, on a steep slope. The projects I need done are:

    1. Clear the bush area which is full of very long grass and some trees

    2. Plant small shrubs and trees

    3. Spread mulch

    4. Lay some crazy pavers

    5. Build a prefabricated chicken coop.

    6. Occasional dog and house sitting

    7. House cleaning

So if you are fit and strong and have some handypeerson skills, then you will be perfect for the job.
