Description
Welcome to our home!
We live in a charming, historic house in the peaceful countryside near Nuremberg, Bavaria, in southern Germany. Our family currently consists of myself, a musician and music teacher, my husband Robert, who runs a company in Nuremberg, and our youngest son, Arved, who is 18 and in his final year of high school.
I run a small music institute at home, filled with a wide range of musical instruments. Our property also features a beautiful, spacious garden with an orchard, vegetables, and ornamental plants. Right now, we have five chickens and five ducks living with us!
We are a friendly, open-minded family who loves cultural exchange and has always enjoyed traveling. We live in the countryside, just a short distance from the vibrant metropolitan area of Nuremberg, Fürth, and Erlangen.
While we spend a lot of time at home, enjoying our lovingly restored, 400-year-old house and garden, we also like to explore nature: hiking, cycling, swimming, and occasionally paddling. In Nuremberg, we enjoy visiting the cinema, theaters, concerts, and exhibitions.
Thanks to a well developed public transport system, it's easy for our guests to go out and explore on their own as well.
Everyone who stays with us is warmly welcomed into our family life. You’re invited to join us for our traditional festivals, parties with friends, cozy bonfires in the garden, or outings to other places. We also have a cozy, private room in the house where you can relax, read, watch TV, or listen to music.
The music institute in our home is available for you to use too, with a huge selection of instruments—perfect for making music when no regular classes are happening.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing our home with you!Types of help and learning opportunities

During your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to explore our charming village of Schönberg, the nearby small town of Lauf an der Pegnitz, or the vibrant city of Nuremberg with its rich variety of cultural events.
If you're interested, you can also immerse yourself in our local traditions by participating in our family celebrations or attending the festivals held in the surrounding areas. It’s a great way to experience authentic Bavarian culture and get to know our way of life. We would love to learn from you as well and get to know your culture.Help
We have a variety of tasks here, and our guests are welcome to choose activities they enjoy. These can include household chores, laundry, meal preparation, cleaning the premises, and sometimes homeoffice tasks.
We are particularly grateful for help with caring for our plants and animals—watering plants, harvesting fruit, weeding, preparing firewood, feeding and watering our chickens and ducks, and changing the straw in the coop.
If a work-away guest stays with us for a longer period, we would also be happy to have them look after our property while we’re away on vacation.Languages
