Hey guys we're in San Rafael, around 30min bus-ride from Guatape, right by the main road and we have a beautiful 3-hectare piece of land with a super clean private river where you can spend hours exploring, and 2 small streams running through either side of the land. We are surrounded by nature, frequently visited by small monkeys, toucans and all kinds of birds.
We've been building a pirate-style hostel for the last 3 years and are now open again after having to shut down due to Coronavirus. We have a pretty slick set-up and a nice house with a big kitchen, lots of chicken roaming around the land, a couple of ducks, a horse and a little cat and a German Shepperd.
The town of San Rafael is very touristy with Colombians and it's up and coming with backpackers too. 1000m above sea-level, it's almost always between 20 and 28° and surrounded by beautiful nature with lots of water (rivers, lakes, streams, waterfalls).

Hola, soy Adrián! Junto con mi Socio Dominik construimos un hostal ecológico de bambú con temática pirata y lo hemos abierto finalmente después de estar 2 años construyendo y diseñándolo. Hemos abierto en septiembre y desde entonces estamos trabajando y mejorando.
La finca es una belleza de 3 hectáreas con río para bañarse, donde hemos construido 3 cabañita para pareja y un dormitorio de dos habitaciones, todo en bambú. En la finca tenemos varios animales libres como gallinas, patos, yeguas, una perra y una gata.
Los alrededores de San Rafael son de los más bonitos que hemos visto en todo Colombia, hay ríos, cascadas, pozas donde bañarse y caminos para perderse. Probablemente podremos llevarte a dar una vuelta en moto cuando tengamos tiempo. Además, el clima aquí es caluroso todo el año con una temperatura entre 20-30 grados ;)

You can practice English or Spanish with us, we are also constantly learning things with which you will probably also do it if you accompany us in the process. Another fun thing is to sit and contemplate life in San Rafael, a town unknown to most where you can observe Paisa life in its entirety while sipping a red wine, watching the horses, moving around in a motorcycle car or visiting the stone of Guatapé that is only just 30 minutes.

Puedes practicar ingles o español con nosotros , además estamos aprendiendo cosas constantemente con lo cual tu probablemente también lo hagas si nos acompañas en el proceso. Otra cosa divertida es sentarse a contemplar la vida en San Rafael, un pueblo desconocido para la mayoría donde observar la vida Paisa en su totalidad mientras tomas un tinto, observar los caballos, moverte en motocarro o bien visitar la piedra de Guatapé que queda a solo 30 minutos.

Hello! After two years of design and construction, we already have the hostel up and running. We are currently working and open to the public. Colombian guests are mostly received, although sometimes people from the United States or other countries also come. Maintenance is also needed on the farm. Permaculture, knowledge of orchards and fruit trees, etc. is very welcome. Also knowledge in carpentry is useful for us. Everything related to living in the country and with the hotel industry :)
We also have a wall to paint, if you are an artist specialized in that, we would like something on a pirate and nature theme. Volunteers with knowledge of yoga are also welcome :)

¡Hola! Después de dos años de diseño y construcción ya tenemos el hostal listo y en funcionamiento. En estos momentos estamos trabajando y abiertos al público. Mayormente se reciben huéspedes colombianos aunque a veces también llega gente de los estados unidos u otros países. Nosotros estamos especializados en comida vegetariana y nos gusta mucho cocinar. También se necesita mantenimiento a la finca. Permacultura, conocimiento de huertos y arboles frutales, etc es muy bienvenido. También el conocimiento en carpintería es útil para nosotros.. Todo aquello relacionado con vivir en el campo y con la hostelería :)
También tenemos un muro por pintar, si eres artista especializado en eso, nos gustaría algo de temática pirata y naturaleza. Voluntarios con conocimiento de yoga también son bienvenidos :)

In your time you can discover the area full of rivers and puddles. There are also some waterfalls! Other things is to rent a motorcycle to get to know other towns such as Alexandria or Naples (former home of Pablo Escobar). Guatapé is about 30 minutes away and Medellín is two hours away. There are also direct buses every half hour.

En tu tiempo puedes descubrir el area llena de ríos y charcos. ¡También hay algunas cascadas! Otras cosas es alquilar una moto para conocer otros pueblos como alejandría o haciendo Nápoles (antigua casa de Pablo Escobar). Guatapé queda a unos 30 minutos y medellín a dos horas. Además hay buses directos cada media hora.
