Description
Hello everyone! We are Michele and Valentina, a couple in our thirties who moved to northern Sardinia about three years ago. Our project is based on regenerative agriculture and aims to grow healthy vegetables while simultaneously improving biodiversity and soil fertility.
Our aim is to create a place where nature and people can live in balance. We work with the soil in a natural way, regenerating it through crop rotation, compost, and traditional techniques, while experimenting with sustainable solutions for food production.
We have a vegetable garden of about two hectares, a main house where we live, and a renovated farmhouse that we make available to volunteers. We also have two Maremma sheepdogs, Neve and Athena, who are kind and affectionate with everyone. Our dogs are free-roaming, so we're looking for people who aren't afraid of dogs. We also currently have a rooster and three chickens.
We're looking for motivated volunteers who want to experience nature in a rustic, rural setting, lend a hand with daily chores, and help us finish some renovations.
Activities include:
- garden tasks (maintenance, planting, transplanting, harvesting)
- small home improvement projects using mostly natural materials
The property is located in the village of Tisiennari, 9 km from Perfugas, where all amenities are available (supermarkets, Italian post office, bars, restaurants, shops, gym), a small but well-kept museum, and the Sacred Well of Predio Canopoli. Nearby are the Casteldoria thermal baths, with free hot springs, and the long beach of San Pietro a Valledoria is 20 minutes away. In the surrounding area, you can enjoy nature walks, visit archaeological sites, stroll through the streets of Tempio Pausania, and admire the sea from the spectacular village of Castelsardo.
We ask for help for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. In exchange, we offer accommodation in a detached house with a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom with a double bed and a bunk bed. Food is not included, but you are welcome to pick and enjoy vegetables from the garden. The minimum stay is one week, with the possibility of extending upon mutual agreement.
Workawayers won't be helping with any tasks relating to the business.
If you're interested in learning how to grow in a regenerative and natural way and enjoy an authentic experience, we look forward to welcoming you!
