  Description

  We are an open-minded family who loves meeting people from other countries, sharing stories, and enjoying good company. Our team consists of my wife (26), myself (48), our 4-year-old daughter, and a very friendly dog who will turn 8 in September.
  
  We live in Xalapa, the capital of Veracruz, a city famous for its vibrant cultural life, excellent coffee, and green surroundings. Within less than a hour and a half drive, we have access to rivers, mountains, water parks, beaches, and "pueblos mágicos" (magic towns) waiting to be discovered. If you love nature, culture, and family life, this is the place for you!

  We truly love natural company and meeting people from different cultures. In our home, the cultural exchange happens naturally by sharing daily meals, chatting, and enjoying everyday family life. We love cooking together, and if we hit it off, we enjoy organizing weekend trips to show you the beautiful nature, rivers, beaches, and magic towns surrounding Xalapa. We want you to feel like a "big sister" in our home, sharing stories and, if you'd like, practicing languages with our 4-year-old daughter in a relaxed, pressure-free environment.

  Help

  We are looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, and positive volunteer who wants to become like a "big sister" in our family dynamic. The main support would be for just a few hours a day (leaving you plenty of free time to explore the region at your own pace) and would focus on:
  
  Childcare and games: Spending quality time with our 4-year-old daughter, doing crafts, playing, reading stories, or, if you'd like, sharing songs or words in your native language with her!
  
  Light housework: Very basic tasks of daily life together, such as clearing the table after meals or keeping the play area tidy.
  
  For us, the most important thing is human connection and cultural exchange. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys children, is patient, and wants to live an authentic experience sharing day-to-day life with us.

  This host offers a language exchange
  We are very interested in having our 4-year-old daughter learn and practice whatever language you speak or want to teach her, naturally through games, songs, and daily life. Please note that only the dad speaks both languages (fluent Spanish and intermediate English), while the mom speaks only Spanish. However, we can all happily help you practice and improve your Spanish while you share your language and culture with our little girl. It’s a win-win in a very relaxed environment!

  Accommodation

  We offer a clean, secure, and comfortable private bedroom (4x4 meters), which is furnished and includes a double bed. The bathroom is shared.
  
  Regarding meals, three daily meals are fully provided. We love cooking all kinds of food, sharing the table as a family, and chatting about our day, so there will always be a spot ready for you. If you have any dietary restrictions, just let us know so we can accommodate them!

  What else ...

  Xalapa is a beautiful city, full of parks, coffee shops, and culture, and it's very easy to get around by walking or using public transport. Our location is strategic: we are nestled right at the foothills of the Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range, surrounded by stunning mountains and cloud forests perfect for hiking. In fact, right here we have the Cofre de Perote, which is one of the highest mountains in Mexico. Additionally, in less than an hour and a half, you can visit the Gulf beaches, enjoy ecotourism in the rivers of Actopan or Jalcomulco, or stroll through the "Pueblos Mágicos" of Coatepec and Xico.
  As for house rules, we only ask for mutual respect, cleanliness in common areas, and keeping in mind that we are a family home with a young daughter and a friendly dog, so we appreciate a peaceful, smoke-free environment indoors. Looking forward to sharing with you soon!

  Capi (7 years)

  Our dog Capi is a fundamental member of our family. He is very affectionate, playful, and friendly. He loves being around people and almost always joins us on our weekend car trips to explore the beautiful nature around Xalapa. You will love his company!
