I have been living in Thailand for over 8 years now and run a small resort in Khao Sok - National Park - I have a small bamboo bungalow in the rural town of Kuraburi - around 2 hours north of Khao Sok and need help to care for 5 dogs. The dogs have been left homeless and we are trying our best to provide care and company for them.

Living in a rural village gives you the chance to see how Thai people really live - helping with English teaching - gives you a connection to the families and opens doors and opportunities in the local area. Kuraburi is not a touristic town and life is simple, food is authentic and delicious.
Firstly, I need help with caring for 5 dogs in Kuraburi, this is a down time project - giving volunteers the chance to relax and have a base to work from for 3 - 4 weeks. The dogs are my priority and need walked, fed and washed - love and attention. I also like to arrange some English classes for the local children - just fun time, drawing, number, colours etc. i ask the bungalow and small garden area be kept clean and tidy and really the rest of your time is your own. ideal project for long time travelers who need some private space and time.
On a separate note, I have just taken over a small resort near Khao Sok National Park, this small resort and is located in the Jungle.
Khao Sok is open for business all year long, with low season for guests during June, September and October. It is also raining from June till October, but as this is the rain forest, it makes the Jungle come alive and the scenery and vegetation is absolutely stunning. The resort remains open during the rainy season and we are trying to establish a kitchen herb and vegetable garden and also put into place as many Eco Friendly practices as possible. We need help with gardening, recycling, customer service and general running of the resort.
Bamboo bungalow with private bathroom and outdoor kitchen area
Kuraburi is located 12km from some of the most beautiful and deserted beaches, unspoiled by tourism. It has also the closest local pier to the island of Koh Phrathong, one of the last remaining islands which hosts a savanna and miles and miles of beautiful beaches. We also will arrange trips out to Khao Sok on your time off, the jungle and a chance to stay at our resort.
